Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

If he leaves (as widely reported), what will Freo get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

Compare price of Tim Kelly would be reasonable, also see Weller trade for the last player Freo traded with a four year extension on offer from the club.

Cool. Trade that for pick 1 and I'll run a lap of the MCG wearing only a face mask.
Weller trade was to Gold Coast , They would have given a top 5 pick to anybody that wanted to join them with the situation they were in and for you to bring that up is just hilarious and one of the best rogering since the croad deal.

Tim Kelly was desperately chased by West Coast and we can all agree the eagles over paid by 1 late pick
The entire AFL world is still laughing at that including the Freo Board.

I'm happy to hand over our 2 1sts(weather both is this years is debatable) and getting something back.
I'd also be happy if it was just a 1st and stk 2nd. :)

Now you are talking some common sense :)

Who is the Richmond supporter who said they wouldn't give up their FRP for Cerra if he nominated them ? Of course you would (plus something else too), certainly extends your flag window by a couple of years.

You won't getting him for a 2nd Round pick and a player who is getting games in the VFL or McIntosh.

If you lowball Freo at the trade table, they would be more than happy to send him to PSD where North would gladly swoop.

He is not a free agent, and under the current criteria, you have to give up quality to get quality.
I dont think anybody is saying 2nd rounder

Most Richmond supporters believe our 1st rounder (the 1st one roughly #12) plus St Kilda 2nd rounder roughly #23/#24 which will be roughly 6-8 places behind our later 1st rounder.
e.g #12+#25

I dont believe any Richmond posters said they wouldn't give up a first for him?

They'd send him to the psd before accepting a first round pick? You can't honestly believe that.

Richmond has shown to be more than reasonable when trading over the past 10 years. If he does nominate us, we'll get it done.

Well. You don't wanna burn any bridges like a certain side has done in the past.
Might comeback and bite ya in the ass at some stage.
Ya know if the shoe was on the other foot type of stuff. :D

More reasonable and sensible than some of their supporters on here it seems

I remember the Brad hill wanting to come home thread and the response from the freo supporters telling us all about how

" The Hawks gain pick 23 in the draft for the 23-year-old Hill, who played an important role in their 2013, 2014 and 2015 AFL flag-winning teams. "

Was a fair deal , Then years later telling us how 'He is worth more when traded to St kilda for a stupid $900k x 6 year deal

sensible and reasonable from some supporters but totally unrealistic from others but the truth is somewhere in the middle

dealing with random picks is very hard as teams have different picks and which teams he decides to consider

Think the easiest way is to put a value on him and try to get as close to that as possible

I rate him #10-#12 range for an uncontracted player wanting to come home that most likely if he decides its richmond is taking even less than what Fremantle offer is.

Do you remember ?

If I'm being honest & Unbiased, I think two first rounds gets it done In the end.

But if he does later on at the end of the year nominate Richmond, I can see Richmond saying one first + 2nd as starting point.

There will be some haggling but if he nominates Richmond, I'm pretty sure they will get the deal done.

Tim Kelly that had just made All Australian, 2nd in the cats BnF to Dangerfield and finished top 5 in the Brownlow? Yeah, real good comparison......

GC were bonkers for handing pick 2 over for Weller, everyone knows that.

Poor examples.

You need to consider that Tim Kelly is considerably older than Cerra too, and already performing similarly - so you're buying four extra years of AA selections.

....or 4 years of injuries. Who knows, but I'm fairly confident he won't get 4 AA nods in the next 4 years....
Fremantle players don't tend to get noticed until they play the exact same season somewhere else, so I agree.

If our first is around 9-12, then it'll be that and the saints second rounder. Any later and it'll be our first two picks for Cerra and a BS late pick that Freo won't use anyway. We should be happy, young consistent best 22 mid with another 10 years ahead of him! Freo go to the draft and continue the rebuild. According to the AFL's points sheet that values him at roughly 4-6. Which to be fair is roughly his value.

Hey guys

As a Fremantle supporter I don't think 2x Late First round picks will cut it here. Cost Fremantle pick 5 and is starting to play some very good football at 21. Proven talent for speculative late first round picks just won't cut it.

Why ? We have noticed all your other players pretty well
I dont even want to start naming them

All games are televised here mate so no difference to watching a melbourne team
Lachie Neale making All Australian, but not in the year he set the disposal record. When it was broken next that player won a brownlow.

What about if we trade in those two first round picks for a higher first round pick?

Will stay at freo in the end for 2 year deal IMO, maybe with a 2 year extension option.
Richmond especially won’t commit $750k over 4 years or anything near it. He will want a 4 year deal minimum to leave freo.
Money talks at the end of the day.
Also Richmond looking like a 6th to 8th team at this stage so good chance their flag window is sliding shut already.

You could trade them up but I still feel in a so called Average draft that it is unders for Cerra. Im hoping we can trade a club like hawthorn for a top 5 pick at this stage. Unless Van Rooyen and Jack Williams are a chance to be there come Richmonds Picks.
