Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

If he leaves (as widely reported), what will Freo get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

Unusual comment especially if you watched both games.

We dominated the second outing all the way up until it was time to execute in front of the sticks, out midfield in particular dominated.

It's return banter, nothing else. ;)

Why would Carlton split their pick? Freo would just ask for both.

Plus I doubt Richmond would give both firsts just to move up a few spots. Reckon they’d wanna keep them both

I think Freo will ask for two firsts then meet in the middle and accept Carltons first plus SPS

yeah it would be this
2021 1st and either SPS or Fisher, both WA boys, so no go home factor
SPS has underperformed, but they may be a case on environment rather than talent, may blossom under a new coach who knows]
fisher probably the better perfromed of the two
Jack caroll was highly rated but slid in the draft is also a freo boy
multiple options for the steak knives part of the deal
Wont be pick 6 on its own, also wont be two first rounders either, somewhere in between

really all depends on where cerra want to go
players tend to have the whip hand in these deals, and losing clubs try to make the most of a bad situation, of course there is also a point where club say FU go to the draft, but this action can hurt thier cred if other players/clubs see the demands as unreasonable an hinder future trading
( see essendon and dodo being a prick, with every deal)

As I said earlier, Adam is leaving ~$1M on the table to go home. He'll be on around $600K a year at Carlton and will sign for 4 years. Freo upped their offer to $850K.

Carlton will also split its first pick to get Richmond's 2x first rounders and Freo will have to take whichever one is given to them (looks like 12) and Fisher.

Surely we wouldn't give Carlton 2 first rounders just to upgrade a couple of spots. If all the favs win, we get pick 7 and Carlton pick 5. I Couldn't see us trading 7 + 16 or so for 5. Which is really pick 9 down to pick 7 after father sons.

I still think we will ask for Carltons first 2 picks this year! SPS and fisher are both worth nothing when it comes to trades

I'm still holding out a bit of hope things break down with Carlton, and Hawthorn becomes an option for Cerra. The last month of form couldn't hurt if he thought Carlton was in a better position than Hawthorn. Cerra is exactly what Hawthorn needs in the middle.

A lot of wishful thinking already going on ITT.

Cerra is what any team would need in the midfield.

You think there is a chance that he is traded for both this years first and next?
I think so, it needs to be a fair deal for Fremantle. To me, this is overs for a 21 year old, but maybe that's what it'd take. If Carlton back themselves in for top four, that doesn't look so bad. If they just scrape in the 8, it's a bad deal. If they fall further, it's a terrible deal.

You'd think from a risk mitigation standpoint you'd look at this years first and a future 2nd, or a future first and this years 2nd. So it ends up being either an early 1st/later 2nd or early 2nd/late first. Much and muchness.

I reckon Fisher and SPS are both redundant if we get Cerra though. So would love to see one of them bundled up in a trade, 1st + Fisher is fair, 1st + 3rd + SPS is also fair.
