I've fallen into the trap before of getting sucked into the pissing contests these threads always become, so I'll just leave a take here I've seen elsewhere that also involves Geelong/Jordan Clark, and be done with it.

(All picks subject of course to F/S and Academy moves)

Carlton
- Receive: Adam Cerra (from Freo), #35 (from Geel)
- Lose: #6 (to Freo), #25 (to Geel)

Freo
- Receive: #6 (from Carlton), Jordan Clark (from Geel)
- Lose: Cerra, #27 (to Geel)

Geelong
- Receive: #25 (from Carlton) and #27 (from Freo)
- Lose: Clark (to Freo), #35 (to Carl)

Ah, it's from here: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...l/news-story/aeb1c71b87e94a82b1af1cc160ca8e76

Not coming up in google, too new.

Jon Ralph, Glenn McFarlane and Jay Clark

Talented Fremantle midfielder Adam Cerra will nominate Carlton as his preferred new home in the days after the Grand Final.

As revealed by the Herald Sun last week, Cerra was always keen to wait until the last of Melbourne’s Grand Final responsibilities were over before making an official call.

But it is believed that the 21-year-old has had contact with Carlton’s new senior coach Michael Voss in recent days and is now keen to make his mark in the Blues’ revival.

While Cerra flirted with the idea of joining the Grand Final Demons, Melbourne’s inability to get the trade done with Dockers was always going to be a deal-breaker.

Alongside Sydney’s George Hewett, who will secure a four year free agency deal at the Blues, Cerra’s recruitment would be a coup for Voss as he looks to fast-track the club’s long-running rebuild.

The Blues and Dockers will get to work on a potential trade which is almost certainly like to start with Carlton’s pick 6.

Think the trade is fair for Carlton but Geelong getting too good a deal for a dude they didn’t want to play for much of the season.

Well that's a whole other argument you can have with Cats fans ;)

The moral of this take is that I hope the three clubs can help each other out with these trades rather than fighting on different fronts.

With the Cerra news it seems I’m booked out during September of next year.

Will see you in October.

Anyone in particular you would like us to draft for you ?

We are now offering a pre order service

Any troubled fwds with shitty contracts you’d like to get off your books …… also our specialty

You didn’t need him let’s be honest. I’m happy we got him but dees didn’t need him. Probably would’ve made the afl unfair if you got him

They wouldn't want to upset an likely Premiership Cart by trading away a favourite player from both a supporter and player perspective.

Cannot fault them at all for having ambition and making a serious crack though.

That looks pretty good. Certainly on the right track.

Geelong get a really good price for Clark, but the other two seem balanced.

Just thinking a bit creatively but if Cerra does indeed nominate Carlton how would people feel about this....

Carlton:
LOSE: Pick 6 and 2022 1st Pick
GAIN: Cerra and Fremantle's 2022 1st Pick.

Fremantle:
LOSE: Cerra and 2022 1st Pick
GAIN: Pick 6 (2021) and Carlton's 2022 1st Pick

Would essentially mean that the trade would favour slightly the team that finishes higher next year.

Leave the trade ideas to others buddy.

Jesus Christ. How much longer of this crap is there? 3 weeks?

It is interesting because it would mean tying the "winner" of the trade to who finishes higher on the ladder in 2022, under the assumption that Cerra is worth ~pick 6. Not sure many list managers would go with that. But thanks for your reply!

It’s not interesting. It’s dumb.
Where the teams finish next season has no correlation to the ‘winner’ of the trade.
Cerra could do his knee in the preseason. Not play a game. Carlton finish higher still. Are they the winner of the trade??

Like I said, dumb.
