In he a free agent or just out of contract? If he walked to North via the PSD does Essendon get a compensatory pick? Surely he'll get the extra year contract over what is currently being offered, and stay at Essendon - too good a player to let go.

Out of contract.

If I'm not mistaken the offer from Essendon is there I think it's up to Saad now if he wants to recommit

Not a chance in hell he leaves. Just management posturing to get him a better deal
What if he is also concerned about the direction the club is going. Or what if he has a reason to be upset at what has been offered to him.

We don't really know the full details yet but on the face of it something seems off.

Nah, same shit idiots fall for every year. Players at Vic clubs don't change to other Vic clubs unless the parent clubs
doesn't want them

It's strange has only been at the club for a few years and would be a priority for them to re-sign and yet it's September 20 and he still hasn't.

They have signed other players and they have given an offer to Saad. Surly it's to become one of there top payed players.

Usually I would agree with you, but with players for the short to medium term likely not getting pre-covid coin, some may be more likely to jump.

Maybe, if it becomes the new norm I'll apologise but history heavily suggests this is just posturing.

Totally fair comment, I think after the trade period we'll have a better idea of the landscape.

We actually haven't re-signed anybody yet this year
Hope we stay away, have never seen the bloke hit a target.
You must not watch him very often then. He does miss the odd one but he's a pretty reliable kick for the most part

Wouldn't have seen him as much as you, so I'll take your word for it. Seems to bomb it aimlessly a lot, and from memory doesn't get many score involvements. Stats look better than I thought though.

Second in score launches amongst all defenders behind Blicavs. Third in score involvements amongst defenders behind Whitfield and Daniel

Any best 22 player that hasn’t re-signed by now is seriously considering his options... or has already checked out. Pressure building for the Dons.
It is unusual, but as Eth-Dog mentioned if Essendon haven't re-signed anyone they might be just holding off until the AFL releases the numbers.

It is strange that the media just moved onto this one though if it's just run of mill like the rest but I guess time will tell.

ignore this year and our diabolical setup.
He's been lobbing his kicks a lot.
Check out last year and he will generally lace out a pace to players he has no business even seeing. Periphery vision is something else.

Silver lining on Saad leaving and McKenna retiring, we may be forced to think about attacking from the centre square like a normal football team.

If that cash is on the table from North or Carlton, we'll hopefully be getting a top 10 pick (North hold Dees 1st)

Spewing if he left but wouldn’t blame him if he wants success. If the case though, would of course be interesting where he goes.
Can't begrudge if he leaves for cash as well. Has 4-5 years left of this career. If there's a few mill in it for him that's a good return for a guy plucked out of the VFL.

Surely stays in Melbourne with the family connection being the reason he moved here from GCS.
