that's the question, geelong are pretty good at getting deals done with little or no fuss, no like my man dodo, logic tells me geelong dont pay big $ for players and GWS would really want more then a pick around 10...

Coming into the season they would’ve been preparing to pay him 900+ if he had another strong season and they also had a contract on the table for 700 odd for Williams. So yeah they have room to match with Williams leaving.

They didn’t offer it because they didn’t want to pay it. If Cameron hadve won the coleman again he would’ve got another high priced contract. Williams was surplus to their needs but they still had the money available to sign him, it’s one of the reasons they wanted Patton gone last year.
