Yeah it’s all on Simmo. All we need to do is stick someone else in that chair and everything will magically turn around, like a miracle.

No, but the guy who's lead the ship while its come to this while stubbornly refusing to right the obvious wrongs along the way is incredibly unlikely to be the guy to lead us out of it.

At least Miguel swallows his pride, takes his medication and doesn’t look or post in this thread after another abysmal performance. He’ll be back by Thursday though

I had planned to check in in the next couple of days to see if you’d found a single example of someone thinking we’d be competitive next year.

Also, I literally posted in here half an hour after the game finished. You really can’t help being completely wrong about everything all the time, can you.

Are you a child? You are like a little kid going nah nah and sitting back and giggling about it in the corner. Go away and let the adults talk, and take your alter ego chump change with you.

He’s literally been in this thread about six times since the game. Tremendous b8 m8.

Wonder if you were saying that in 2018?
4 years is a long time in football! Nobody is takung away the success of both coach and players for 2018 but they (players and coach) seem to have fallen off a cliff since and in particular this year, albeit there have been outside influences like injuries and covid but imo that's only part of the problem.

Depends if we put in any effort the next few weeks.

I reckon he's close to packing it in. But I think if we keep losing by 10 (i.e. there are no 5 goal honorable losses in between) , and then it's compounded by 100pt loss, I think that will tip him. I don't think he's going to want to go through the media circus knowing it probably ends in a morale sapping sacking, and even if he survives he has to climb the mountain from scratch.

I think this week against the Bulldogs we are in danger of having that 4-6 goals honourable loss.

Dogs are probably gonna win by 100 to be honest.

Their mids can cut you up and push forward.

Expect guys like Bailey Smith and Bont to kick a bunch.

The main thing is I hope we continue to attack the game. Tackle numbers increase etc Show some signs.

When we haveva half decent game we follow it up with a stinker

My gut says 4-6 but it's a rank guess. If we get done by 100, I think he'll pack it in.

We only got done by 9 on the weekend but it felt like 15. We got done by 12 against Melbourne and it only felt like 7 or 8. But if you get done by 100, it's always going to feel like 100.

I want it to be 100. I just want to see how Simmo and the club respond.

The GWS game was over in 10 minutes. We where hunted and looked like rabbits in a spot light.

Yeah exactly.

If we showed up v gws and won tge first half we all have a different view of the game.

The fact we won the 2nd half could be due to GWS putting the que away.

I keep hoping by the end of the year we are competitive for a whole game but as each week passes it looks poopy

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but we've got Chance Bateman back at the club after the Covid clamps forced his exit late in 2020. Have heard a few people speak about/mention him lately and it sounds like he's highly regarded.

He's in charge of Indigenous Player Development

Definitely did not hear that. Excellent news.

Surprised the club didn't make a big deal out of it.

Actually, no I'm not.

Probably not happy with how it all went down having to move him on and worried about the optics of having egg on their face getting him back. Or don't think we care.

Unsure if he came back before the wheels fell off or it was tactical about addressing the state of the club, but he rejoined us some time in March.

I am still dirty about Hurns 300th and what followed. After serving up one of the most disgraceful efforts I have ever seen, in a club legends milestone game, every one of our senior players played that following week

That basically encapsulates Simpsons entirely flawed selection mentality
Agreed.

I had been waiting for an Eagle to crack 300 my while life and it does and we produced a pathetic effort that hasnt really stopped to be honest.

Garbage

From Simpsons point of view he would have to consider the following.
1) Can I rebuild this team from the bottom up? Am I prepared to make some very big calls on players who won a flag for me? Is the club going to let me finish the build if I start it?

2) Even though there are circumstances if I am to be moved on or if I resign how many of these beltings are allowed before it starts hurting my resume? There is still some very highly credentialed talent in our team each week and we are still getting belted. Are the players no longer listening?

Just as the club is, I am sure Adam will also be weighing up what his future holds and what’s best for him.

interesting times ahead.

Sadly there are plenty of miserable sods on this board taking away the success of the coach of 2018.

I don't think that's true. Just because he won a flag doesn't mean he should have a job forever. Every flag coach has a used by date.

I don't listen to Stones records after Some Girls or Pearl Jam records after Vitalogy. Doesn't mean they're bad bands.
