I fail to see how Treloar leaving us benefits us.

Unless Ahearn or Hopper turn out to be as good as, or better than he is.

I wouldn't say short term its a benefit but long term as Mcuzzy said money but also your academy picks. You need to pay for this years this year so you can get next years and 2017 without any trouble. Remember you cannot go into debt two years in a row so if you take the 3 kids this year you won't get your 4 kids next year without making a trade for some 1st rounders.

Getting another half dozen top 10-20 picks over the next two years is good for your club as it spreads the age demographic and helps you keeping building an insane list. It's pretty much been your go to move since you've come in to keep spreading the age demographic.

In simple terms, GWS have a midfield with half a dozen Cotchins/Pendelbury's, and as they all come towards the peak of their powers, they'll all still be expected to take ~$350k contracts to all fit in the cap. I'm not sure whether being their list manager would be completely awesome, or the most stressful juggling act imaginable!

We've got a few others on our list that that have trade currency which will prevent us from going into deficit too much.

Bugg and Wilson this year would net second rounders.

I can't see us having the Riverina as our zone at the end of next year so I hope our 4 boys next year are stars!

I don't disagree, but there is a reason the Giants are happier with 2 first rounders from the Tigers then what Collingwood will offer.

Even if the pies get another first rounder I suspect the Giants will want it for next year not this year.

100% Next years draft is the key.

The Pies are quite capable of offering two first rounders if they want to. Like your we can give up our first from next year.

One of those is earmarked for Aish.
That's a big assumption and I doubt its true. There's a big question mark over where Aish is going. There is also a big question mark over what the Pies priorities are. We may have come to terms that we will need the two first rounders for Treloar and he would be the main player we want. If Aish wanted to come after we traded the first rounders we would do what we can to get Aish here with players and other picks, even if we failed in the end to get him.

Blues finishing bottom (PSD threat) and kreuzer FA compo might mean the blues are suddenly in the market for treolar - particularly if additional GWS players could be packaged into a deal for pick 2.

In 2014, it was pick 7 -> jacksh + whiley + 19 (boekhurst)

Perhaps a similar 3:1 deal in 2015? pick 2 -> treolar +... +... ?

Would GWS fans consider the above over 2 X 1st round picks from tigers/richmond?

I'm exceedingly wary of this post because I'm almost certain it's a troll post, however.

On what basis does pick 2 benefit GWS when they have two academy players due to be bid on in the top 10 AFTER that selection?

Then we have the question of why Treloar + is required from GWS when Treloar alone is worth pick 2 as a minimum anyway?

Lastly why would he be interested in shifting to the wooden spoon club that is about to potentially lose 3 of it's 10 most talented players and in line for a 5 year rebuild?

Carlton just have no play in this deal whatsoever with GWS, Richmond or Collingwood the only clubs in the conversation...

We shall see...

Instead of some flimsy response to my last line (which was obviously OTT considering I've got no knowledge on what AT is planning) let's discuss the questions I've asked? How do any of the previous comments make logical sense considering the current state of play with GWS, Treloar and Carlton?

What is it with the psd threat? There is no way Treloar would threaten that to get to the rabble that are the blues.
He has just spent 4 years building a club why would he go and want to start over?

Fyi players arent going to bend over their current club just to wear blue.

Dont see how we need to add sweeteners to that deal. Also isn't Carlisle the PSD target?

Good players just don't go to the psd any more

I've heard a lot of talk Treloar will be at Port next year. Port will give up it top pick for him. If that happens Shculz won't be at Port next year.

So Dixon gets 700k for 5 years which most likely pushes out Schulz because of $$$ yet they will sign Treloar for 700k+..

Sounds legit.
