Seriously, before 2017 nobody saw the Tigers coming including Richmond supporters.

Bomber was close to being sacked at the end of 2006 and Dimma was close to being sacked at end of 2016. Hardly remembered anyway.

You’ll be eating your hat because you don’t understand their salary cap situation and he’s told them if they want him gone he’s going to a vic team.
Ok m8 if you say so.

And for Treloar to be interested in the two clubs.

That’s the problem - he wants to stay in Melbourne, he wants to stay in flag contention. That rules out the non-Vic sides plus Geelong, also Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton, North and Hawthorn. Richmond could not fit him in the cap, so that leaves only the Dogs and Saints, neither of which have shown interest thus far.

If it weren’t for Crouch I could see Saints being interested. Unfortunately him and Crouch is probably too much. Same with Carlton; they are paying good money to Willians and Saad.

Ultimately I think Treloar will have to take a pay cut, unless the magpies pay something like half. It’s a shame, feel sorry for him, but that club has forced him into a horrible position.

If Collingwood are having such a tough time paying Treloar’s salary, then Hawthorn will take him and pay most of his contract if not all of it. Throw in Tom Phillips as well.

Collingwood get: Hawthorn’s 2020 pick 21, 41 and 43
Hawthorn get: Treloar and Phillips

Win/Win!

As much as Treloar has (at least from the outside) been mistreated, so have the Collingwood members/supporters.

Always felt Club Boards and Presidents/CEOS should be open and direct with their constituents (the members, look at Peggy and Benny Gale at Richmond), but the Pies fans have been totally kept in the dark/out of the loop over this

North Melbourne to their credit, have been open and direct to their members about the situation regarding Ben Brown (and obviously they had moral and medical reasons why they kept silent on Rhyce Shaw for a while)

Collingwood supporters (as much as I dislike them) have every bloody right to expect answers from an open and answerable board and President, not some kind of regime that believes it has Autonomy to run the club with scant disregard to its loyal members and supporters.

Why would treloar take a pay cut he has a contract that's that

What determines a team being or not being in flag contention?
It has been confirmed he wants to stay at Collingwood and one could argue they are not in flag contention. He just holds that natural love and belief the club can still achieve things. Most players think this way. He holds no interest in moving clubs at all, though that will likely change if these rumoured tensions between him and officials at the club are indeed what they are and continue happening behind the scenes.

Second of all in regards to a trade (if it comes down to that), it is a matter of which club will be wanting to take him with such a significant contract hanging over his head. No club trades to benefit their competition. It is a matter of what they get out of it themselves.

We are talking about a 28-year-old accumulator with a history of hamstring issues after all.

This is going to be the popcorn trade this year, Treloar says no to GCS pies will have to eat humble pie or lose a good pick

Actually Treloar could and maybe should hold tight forcing the Pies to find anyway possible to trade him otherwise things get even more ugly.

Bit of water to go under the bridge yet

Why should Treloar take a pay cut? He hasnt breached his contract so Collingwood cant tear it up without legal ramifications. Make no mistake, he holds all the cards here.

Yeah there is nothing Collingwood can do if he digs his heels in. Can't trade without his approval, can't rework his contract. They can make life difficult for him though and the impact of that depends how resilient he is

No he won't.

That thing called the contract says he doesn't. He will get every cent he is owed, and rightly so. Be it the Pies or a new club or a combination of both, he will not be missing out at all.

We did not drag her into it the media did. Just like they did when Kelly wanted to come back to Perth because his wife needs family support. Forgot that one did you?

Garbage. You dragged her into it when you started leaking details to Browne and co about the situation and refused to thereafter reject the accusations.

Eagles/Geelong never dragged Tim Kellys wife into it themselves. She made comments herself in the public though which got reported on

Treloars wife though is/was a innocent bystander until Collingwood dumped her name in it for there own personal gain

Assuming he is willing to go to the Gold Coast, what are your thoughts on this.

Gold Coast Receive: Adam Treloar
Collingwood Receive: Will Brodie, Peter Wright and a 2nd or 3rd round future pick to help with points for Nick Daicos.

Feel we kind of ruined his value but I feel this is fair.

I don’t think you feel you ruined his compensation judging by this.

Well I doubt Brodie and Wright have anything more than the value of Pick 30 Wright I believe didn't play all year and Brodie beat that with one game. I think pick 30 would be generous in assessing them.

Pick 20 for Wright
Pick 30 for Brodie
Treloar is a salary dump

I’d say Collingwood are doing well with that type of deal.
