I was of the similar view after the initial leaks whilst not overly impressed with it I thought it would grow on people and after its official launch tonight again I wasn’t too overly bothered by it but that view has probably changed somewhat since seeing the implementation of it on like I said in a previous post on the club’s social media pages and on club merchandise - which are 2 of the main prominent areas sports teams logos should be judged by.
As soon as this logo gets scaled down in size like on the club’s social media profiles and on club merchandise it loses all of what little detail it has in the first place and looks like a pixelated MS Paint job.

Considering the feedback from the leaked version, the absolute stubborness from the club and marketing firm is breathtaking.
I actually bothered to email them the popular alternatives and tweaks. I never go to that effort.

Yeah but you can still hit the abort button, or go back to the marketing agency for another round of tweaks. I'm familiar with the process.
This was our chance to be unburdened by what has been (US political reference). But yes, great call to hide the announcement on election day. Like a rate rise on Melbourne cup. Maybe the fans wont notice.
It's funny how the logo announcement mimics Nicks's recent extension announcement. Something they thought would get people hyped but they got wind of it being unpopular beforehand and just kind of had to shove it out the door to little fanfare.

It's simply a logo ....in the big scheme of things to be concerned about, this is meaningless
Trust me ....it wouldn't matter what the design was, it was never going to please anyone .....it's human nature to criticise everything
Just register your protest by not buying any merchandise .....but guess what, the Club will record merchandise sales this year
I would have thought the club would take the opportunity to involve its members in some way shape or form. Agreed asking for input would mean 60,000 opinions would have to be considered but they missed the opportunity. As usual the club elects to not involve us and continues to treat us with contempt. How short sighted. With the new facility at Thebarton starting up and given the money that club will need to raise it makes it so much more difficult to approach the members for contributions. Ignore us and we will ignore them when they come asking for help.

Your right. its not the biggest concern we are faced with. My issue is the contempt that they treat its members with.

You also may not be taking into account if the negative feedback was a minority. Marketing is not foolish. Its well researched.
My experience says (a) Oils ain’t oils when it comes to marketing, and (b) market research is as malleable as it gets.
Also, if you need an explainer video to find the map of SA - You probably blurred the brief!!

Well it’s getting slammed on social media when they are normally very sucky.
The club can’t be happy with the response from the leak, clearly buried the announcement and now won’t be happy with the reaction.
Perhaps they need to consider their own judgement.

Summed up my thoughts exactly. It’s pretty good, not outstanding.Came for the melt... did not disappoint!
You're never going to please everyone with a logo. For me it's a B+ where the raptor was a D. I hated that thing from the jump!
The colours are also a massive improvement
On the back of some good recruiting and hopefully a solid "injury free" pre-season we can move away from being an untethered basketcase and actually 'make Adelaide great again'
If we start to be successful then it will be awesome

There were only a number of degrees of variance from the many options submitted in this thread, which garnered a favourable reaction ......so I agree, maybe the reaction is as much a feeling against an accumulation of club decisions, as it is the logo in particular
I have more of an issue with the Club Song ....which IMO is cheesy and amateurish
Which is what all club songs are....
The feet look like they are in italics.
