Our selectors should be ashamed of themselves for the forward line they chose to put out there, and yet they will not be. They deserved this result, and people should not attend next weeks game if they select similar. It's just unacceptable.

Let’s not pretend playing Fog would of made any difference tonight. The way the ball was coming in to the F50 Fog would of had even less chance than Frampton considering the delivery. Fog deserved to be dropped to work on his game.

If he got two shots, as Billy did- two goals.

We don't have any replacements who aren't the completest of spuds.

They're doing what they think they need to do to get Fog to compete. We're in a rebuilding year, now if any is the time to send Fog a message.

What message you reckon? That we're totally ok with Frampton last week, but that his kicking goals isnt acceptable?

**** this for a joke. We don't have minimum standards and we never have had. We put up with David Mackay's minimum chips for 19 ****ing seasons.

Himmelberg late out, they did what they had to do without another KPF travelling emergency. The issue was the 1st half game plan.

Fog is undisciplined and he wouldn't have scored 80 points to win the game for us anyway. If he is worth persisting with then he will respond well to the challenge put to him.

"undisciplined" in this context means not a wimp.

Would have been far better off with someone willing to fight out there tonight.

Was Frampton punching the ball out of players hands late and giving away 50s not undisciplined? Or is it only that if the other team might have to think twice about it?

Fog probably isn't the answer.

But he's more of one than Billy will ever be

If Billy is the answer you're asking the wrong question.
I was half happy they kept Fog in the 2s this week. If he has things to learn then fine, learn them in the 2s.

But Frampton had to go. Play a small forward line if you have to.

Essendon had no trouble intercepting in our insipid forward line. Laverde, Redman and Ridley combined for 22 intercepts. We had 2 marks inside 50 for the entire match.

Meanwhile at the other end of the ground, our highest intercept player was a bloke we weren't even planning on playing this week, Will Hamill. And imagine if he wasn't there, as Essendon already took 13 marks inside 50

Good selections, team

I'm one of those people who can usually find some positives in a belting. Tonight I'm struggling.

Did not turn up to play at all. Looked like we'd already played 4 quarters before the game begun. Slow and knackered through the whole game. Fumbly, poor decision making, poor foot skills and couldn't mark anything. Just an insipid display.

Average :

Seed the best before going down. Just never had an option to kick to.

Rowe was the one player to use the ball well in most cases. Real shame he missed that last kick.

Murray decent game. Shows enough signs to persist.

Hamill takes the game on at least. Needs more strength.

Berg was a pass but struggled for the most part imo. All our youngsters got taught a lesson but he at least provided something.

Bad :

We have no forward line without Tex and with forward entries like that, it wouldn't have made a huge difference anyway. Frampton just ain't up to it. At least himmelberg has shown some afl quality at some stage. Fog would have faired no better in this game (except kicking straight for goal. Prob wouldn't have the lowest score I guess). TT ain't ready to lead a forward line. We have zero small forwards atm. Just a dire situation given we can't produce a decent kick forward.

Keays and laird both had their worst games of the year. Looked slow of mind, which is not like them. Indecisive.

Sloane poor.

Kelly and Mackay yuck.

Everyone else I can't be bothered commenting on.

Terrible

Giving Berg a pass when he didn’t play is a pretty ambitious call. Was he good in the bar? Did he shout the hour? Did he bring the blow? (No we got rid of those good players / pretenders). What the?

Not assisted by the insipid delivery into the forward line but even Thilthorpe dropped some marks he got his hand to, we clearly missed another tall target with Himmelberg (who was actually our most experience tall forward) a late out, this might have explain that game plan in the 1st half to slow the game down which actually cook our players who have limited preseason by half time. We changed it in the 2nd half by bombing the ball and they intercepted everything without another tall forward to compete.

Bullseye

His biggest issue is playing in front of the least skilled midfield in the competition

And under a coaching staff that values what Frampton, D Mac and the gang bring to the table

This is it basically.

Fog is a lead up forward and we persist with putting Laird, Keays and Sloane as the guys delivering the ball in, three of the shittiest kicks in the AFL and we are putting them in the guts. I think I read it all last week when it was suggested that Matt Crouch is a better kick than our current CBA team...Matt Crouch. Floaters, shanks and shinning the ball is our F50 entries at the moment.

Van Berlo needs to be read the riot act, stop picking those three guys and absolutely stop picking them when they are injured.

Richmond 22 points two weeks ago, us 21 tonight. The difference is they have won 3 of the last 4 flags.
