Yeah and it's a little convenient now that there's a stat saying that 20% of concussions can present after a delay....Where have you been for the past few years? The AFL is concerned about the head first and foremost (rightly so), but part of this they have gone about it the wrong way. It doesn't matter if it is what we consider a 'football collision' vs a bump, but if you want to go that way he 'choose' to bump instead of just a collision because he tucked in his arm ready to bump. The ' ' parts are because that is what the AFL Tribunal is often quoting as part of their decision explanations. They look at the results of the collision/bump and when a player has to leave the ground and not take further part is looked upon a bit more severely.
A tidy way for the medical staff to avoid culpability.
I don't think the afl would want as sticky an argument as that could become in a court they can't lean on..
Just sayin
