GWS might not have worked as hard as they should have in the off season. Expect it to happen perhaps they have been ordinary all day! For a flag favourite this is not an impressive first up display against an undermanned Adelaide.

Not writing them off of course they will be there when it counts I'm sure

There is literally else he could have done though. If he taps it through the goals (even under immense pressure) he gets pinged for deliberate rushed behind, if he taps it sideways it's very likely it'll go OOB and he'll get pinged for deliberate also, if he doesnt touch it either it goes through for a goal or his opponent grabs it and kicks the easiest of goals.

Feel for the defender in that instance. The rule needs more fine tuning.
