I know it is cool to say how bad our list is.

But really it is just our midfield that is poor.

Our bookends are pretty good. And overall our 22 is better than theirs.

Winning or losing comes down to our bookends overcoming the deficit in midfield and coaching.
Like our wins against Port the last couple of years.

Plus having to compensate for the nil impact of Murphy when the game is hot.

It's really just the most important positional group, where they have one of the best players in the league and we keep rolling out the Laird / Crouch duo who have stunk as a tandem every year since 2020, but this time will be better.

I couldn't face another game of Nicks' no-Game-Plan, or watching Murphy spud it up yet again, or Laird's high bombs, or seeing Curtin subbed out @ half- or 3/4 time, or another honorable/valiant loss, or a belting (more likely since the Dogs are flying), all of which are entirely possible.
Just like last week, I doubt that I'll watch the replay either. It's no fun any more.

I liked him well enough in '20/'21 --- he had a lot to do to counter a disunited/miserable playing group, plus assistants not of his choosing. Looking back, the signs of his being a poor Coach emerged in '22 with that defensive, minimise-losses-damage "game plan" + the ways he favoured seniors over youth + weird selections + no understanding of Match Day nuances to affect games etc.
