He's gone and got dunkley all hot and heavy promising him the world, but will refuse to pay anything close to the pricetag that the dogs will quite rightly demand for him as a long contracted gun.
The guy is an utter clown- he does a great job getting his hooks into a great player who was seemingly off limits, but then won't follow through and pay the price to actually make it happen.
There is simply no point in chasing contracted players if you aren't prepared to pay the premium their club will quite rightly demand.

I mean, if the Bulldogs won't even discuss a trade there's not a whole lot that can be done, even if Dunkley wants to come to Essendon.

That's my whole point- chasing a target he has no appetite for paying the expected pricetag for is completely at odds with doing right by his employer.
The opportunity cost is huge- he's off grandstanding and chasing fairies so he gets himself in the paper instead of working on trades to get his club closer to a flag.

Well he played for your vfl team two years prior to the season he got drafted did he not ! a number of Essendon fans on bigfooty have even stated that they wanted him rookie listed the year prior after he starred for your vfl team no point getting nasty that you have the most incompetent list manager in the comp that can’t even spot a talent that’s right under his nose
