once you've seen a player at AFL level you get a better impression of whether they are going to make it or not.

ie, Toumpas would not demand a top 10 pick now, because we've seen him at the elite level, Aish demands more than what he was drafted for because he looks like he's going to settle in very nicely indeed. Pick 20 something is basically a crapshoot. pick 9 + 2nd Rounder for Aish is a very fair deal.

Two top 10 picks for Beams is what it would take to get him out of the Pies. Hes contracted so they'd need a King's Ransom. 24y.o and one of the best mids in the comp. That would be the price.

I'd put money on the fact that this is more to do with Petrenko than Dangerfield. If you've seen Petrenko out you'll know the level of player he hangs around with (A Graham being #1) and the other randoms. There were some pretty serious rumors going around at one point about Petrenko's off field antics and recreational activities, wouldn't surprise me if a large majority of the senior list wanted to distance themselves from him.

Also, so what if Danger has an ego and likes to play around in the media? There's plenty of players that have done it for other sides for years (J Brown, D Thomas, T Cloke, B Fevola, N & J Riewoldt, N Maxwell etc etc). We've just finally got a player wanting to do it, and also one that the club seems willing to allow to do it. This shouldn't be a knock on the guy...if anything it should be a bonus as it helps market the club nation wide.

Dangerfield is an elite player and one we should bend over backwards to keep for both on field and off field reasons.

Me too. There has been nothing in the media about this (I'm sure Rucci would be all over it like a fly on shit) so perhaps he IS contracted. Not 100% sure though, our thread says he isn't.
