It’s a who’s who of AFL rejects… and is therefore incredibly dull… controversial opinion: the SANFL should make it mandatory that all bar 6-8 players from each team must be under 23 years of age.
Certainly I think there is a discussion to be had around what the focus of the SANFL needs to be. Just the fact that our standout 17/18 year olds are spread among school football, U18s, reserves and league is a point of concern.

Where is the focal point? Where is the pointy end of the pyramid where the most talented footballers gather?

Grade Cricket has made itself irrelevant. Players who might go on to play Shield Cricket or for Australia tend not to play much grade cricket. In various Redbacks junior squads, Cricket Australia, State 2nd XI. So what actually is Grade Cricket? Where does it sit in the pathway?

Parallels can be drawn between that and the SANFL I think.

Who is No.1 for the Eagles? He's got the biggest backside for his size I've ever seen on a rules player and looks like a completely unfit spud. How did he get in the side?
There are a few more fatties running around in the SANFL now compared to a few years ago.

will never happen. clubs all want some name value, either players returning or just guys people have heard of. there would certainly have been a few more eyeballs on south due to gibbs and broadbent over the last couple of seasons. dont think the incentive for clubs to play mostly youngsters is there, seeing as a lot of them get plucked before they play league.

i'd like the see the reserves kind of filtered out. have players playing at a grade above their age. u/18's in the reserves, u/16's in the u/18's and what have you. maybe a few over age in the reserves, but filter out some of the crap that play ressies. blokes 27 years + running round never going to get a league game. what a waste of time

Trevor Obst just well built?

Has Jack Hayes been on an AFL list? Looks a class player

No he hasn't think his brother was on Brisbane's list for a while. Heard he had some interest for the mid season draft this season but not sure how he hasn't at least ever been on a rookie list.

Missed 3rd quarter. Digital pass more like passed out stuck the whole tine You do all know internet even in Thailand is 15bucks a month. Fast. And no data limits. This problem a digital app problem.

That pic must from early in Trev's career because my recollection he was pretty "solid" later in his career.

His brother Peter was an altogether different build

Not judging by his hairline!

But too early for me to know

Why? He’s 24.. still got a bit to offer. Keath and Greenwood are still playing well after late starts.
A basketballer and a cricketer, Jack Hayes has been talked about every draft time the last few years but hasn't had any interest. You would have thought he was a chance with the inception of the mid season draft but still no takers.
