Best Crows games for Turner, Nankervis and Pedlar you'd have to say, all very impressive. Taylor a gun, only disappointing players were Borlase, Cook and Newchurch for me. Gollant and McAsey both average but did at least contribute some goals.
Sholl gets added to the disappointing list

Taylor looks a player, should a slot in at HF for McHenry and hopefully get a bit of mid time. Looks clean and not a scrapper.

Sholl, eh. Trade I think. Can do some nice things but limited player.

Pedlar was good, hopefully a full preseason which seems a reach given his history.

Cook… disappointing. Soft as.

McKenzie would be out best half back if we moved Dawson up the field lol

Game plan seemed to bombard the ball forward and lock it in, or hurt them on the deck, so to that extent, our key forwards competed well.

Was impressive, but need to see if we can back it up next week.

Pedlar - wow - nice to know we have a player like him waiting in the wings. Looks a natural midfielder to me. If he builds a tank he could be anything. Nice mix of inside/outside player.

Taylor - Very promising. Wish he was 5 cm taller and 10 kg heavier.

Gollant - X factor, love his aggression. Didn't do much.

Frampton - Would hang onto him as insurance especially given kpp stocks are very thin.

Strachan - I like him. Wish we would see more of him at AFL.

McAsey, Cook, Borlase, Newchurch, Davis - not AFL standard

Sholl - welcome to Carlton.

Turner - goer, abit of mongrel. You can do worse than keeping him on the list for another year.

Nicks has definitely installed a nice blend of aggression/mongrel in this squad.

Give Godden a bit of credit. Its his squad.

Amazing how many people are writing Cook off after today. He’ll be just fine. Arguably as talented as anyone on the list.
I don't think many are writing him off, just commenting that he had a poor game, which he did. Clearly he has the talent, but he just needs a bit more intensity in his game.

Some of the top up players performed well. Maybe the club has taken the comp a bit more seriously or did we just have a crap squad in past seasons. Norwood even had a former Crows top-up in Seymour who played well.

If Pedlar, Cook, Taylor, Nankervis and even Gollant reach their potential, do we forgive Haggis for Jones, McHenry & McAsey?
