Anyone have a marble craze sweep through their primary school at one stage? Remember the feeding frenzy that occurred when some poor kid dropped his container? "Marble spill!!!!" and the vultures would pounce en masse, helping themselves while the kid was left in tears. This brings me back

I heard about this from my great great great grandparents (passed down through the generations) but wasn't sure anyone that experienced it was still alive

I'll go with Mr Reliable - Rory Laird.

AdelaideFan14 I believe.

The Story So Far: Top 50 Picks

A disappointingly competent draft so far.

Round 1
9) adelaidecrows - Jordan Dawson (Adelaide) Feels weird to have an Adelaide player up in the pointy end

12) WeeBlake - Clayton Oliver (Melbourne) The wildcard in the deck. Could be a Brownlow medallist, could have a complete meltdown

13) Jcpdragonx - Nick Larkey (North Melbourne) A sneaky good pick. What's he paying for the Coleman?

14) Danger in Texas - James Sicily (Hawthorn) I'll be fuming if he plays 22 games. Everytime I draft him he dominates to the halfway point, is an AA lock then gets injured and misses the second half of the season. Costs me the game.

Round 2

15) Danger in Texas - Caleb Serong (Fremantle) He's good but is he Pick 15 good? Who'd Adelaide draft ahead of him again?

19) 1990crow - Tom Green (GWS) The sort of player you hope slides but sadly posters appear to be on the ball

20) adelaidecrows - Harry Sheezel (North Melbourne) Early for a 2nd year player maybe but geez he looks good.

23) AdelaideFan14 - Oscar Allen (West Coast) This guy had a great 2023 playing in front of an inept team. Imagine if they cobble together some non-abysmal football for him? My early call for Pick of the Draft

28) Mostyn - Sam Taylor (GWS) Mostyn picks this guy every year it feels like, earlier and earlier. And fair enough. Best defender in the competition

Round 3

29) Mostyn - Harry McKay (Carlton) Side bet Mostyn? Harry McKay vs Peter Wright for most goals in 2024. Loser donates $50 to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation

34) AdelaideFan14 - Izak Rankine (Adelaide) We're all rooting for you AdelaideFan14

36) Scorpus - Jack Sinclair (St Kilda) Was my smart pick last year. Unsexy but will win their B&F in a canter because all their other players suck or are perennially injured.

42) Danger in Texas - Shai Bolton (Richmond) I wish I'd pulled the trigger earlier on this guy

Round 4

46) TubbsFarquhar - Will Day (Hawthorn) I was soooo hoping he'd slide.

47) 1990crow - Touk Miller (Gold Coast) This feels very low for a high quality mid

49) Scorpus - Hugh McCluggage (Brisbane) Bargain

50) Pilchard_Adams - Luke Jackson (Fremantle) Could be anything this guy. Will this be the year he figures things out?

In all seriousness, there were a few guys around that pick I could've taken (Walsh and Anderson I was tossing up as well, for instance), Serong I thought was generally the pick of the bunch though

Has been very few howlers. Probably because the same people play every year and are learning from their mistakes.

I would say the lack of banter has been disappointing.

Yeah, happy to. It's a great cause.

Mostyn, not sure you are aware but you still have a pick according to the official records. Jai Newcomb was never replaced.
No, that's fine.

I was here and making my pick, but in between saying that and posting my selection, someone else grabbed the player.

That's fine, it's the rules of the draft. It's not a massive issue. I'll replace him down the road.
