Hope you're not taking the mock out of me dawg.

Merrett was the leading goal kicker when he got injured. I'd like to see your team try and still play attacking football with your main forward going down with injury.
This was pretty funny. 2012 we lost our 3 main goalkickers in Kennedy (7 games), LeCras (0 games) and Nicoski (0 games) and still managed to finish 5th for the year. So you can see our team try that if you are so inclined.

Their midfield is the best in the AFL in my opinion

Then tell me how many of them have blistering pace. Other than Swannie who has a blistering first 10 metres they have very little after that.

Blaire and Sideass are fairly quick. Pendlebury doesn't need blistering pace, he always seems to find so much space. Beams doesn't need blistering pace either - look how damaging he is by foot. And Swan as you said has a good burst of pace

Oh dear lol

Black 33 goals - played forward

Vickery 27 goals - played forward/ruck. Spent more time in the ruck this year then any other due to Marics groins.

Yeah..your forwards are elite :p

Black kicked 33 goals and played in three fewer games.

Fixed :)

Not disputing that but considering there forward set up. Thomas and Pettrie kicking most of there goals with black getting the third weakest defender and Black spending most of his time forward, you would expect him to kick more goals.

I used tyrone as an example soley due to him being a tall. I am actually being a tad unfair on TV as he spends time in the ruck and when he is forward, he more often then not gets the second best defender.

I am not saying black is not a good player but Smoocher talks about his talls being superior and richmonds being underwhelming but if you get the output of Petrie/Black - 71 goals vs Reiwoldt/Tyrone - 85 goals it paints that the gap is not as wide as he believes that would force us to tumble out the eight.

Not that it's all that important for ladder positions, but I wouldn't have thought there was much to split Vickery and Black. Both at this stage are useful players without being elite. They both seem to have the occasional game where watching as a neutral you'd say they have little impact and are hardly noticable, although I'd say Vickery has slightly more of these.

But on the flip side Vickery's ability to help out in the ruck makes him more structurally valuable.

So I'd say it's just about a wash. Somehow it seems like Black might have more upside, although that may just be because he's only recently started playing regularly.

Are we seriously comparing Black to Vickery? And this is not a dig at Vickery but with Thomas, Daw and Tarrant also in the forward line.

Why not mate, people judge Vickery harshly due to his 12 form which was shot due to his injurys and in 13 he played more time ruck. In 2011 he played mainly as a forward with only small bursts in the ruck his kicked 36 goals. Also you mention Tarrent who kicked less goals then Kingy.

All i was trying to do was balance it a bit. Most would say Black over Vickery but Vickery when uninjured has actually had a better season then black. Should be interesting to see how this year compares the two. Vickery so far is injury free and will be playing forward exclusivily.

I rate black but to place North 5th due to Black is adding way to much pressure on the kid IMO
