Correct call, the Tigers had two on three and should have been able to clear it.

Am I the only one who thought that was the right call? Short didn't contest the ball at all and no one was tackling him or even within an arm's reach of touching him. Not too hard to at least pick up the ball and get tackled over the line. He knew what he had to do but shat himself instead.

Pulling up at full tilt? Wait for pressure?
He cant do anything under the rules at the moment.

But the rule has NOTHING to do with what the chasing player does.
Was put out of play - deliberately.
And said player was not under pressure. Green outsmarted a player he couldn't catch.

Good call, he could have easily picked that up. Doesn't need to be a rule in the first place though.

It was a wrong call, the rule is under 9 metres it's okay as long as you're under pressure. Was significant pressure.

What the **** was he supposed to do. Sprinting at full pace was he suppose to run around the ball so when he picked it up he could run upfield. He literally could not have done anything else without rushing it through

The most annoying thing about that rushed behind is that if someone like Hodge or Lewis had done it, the umpire wouldn't have called it. AFL umpiring is stupidly biased.

I hate the rule but I'm not sure the decision was terrible there. 50-50 call at worst, certainly not a howler.
