Would be quite amazing to win 21 straight at the g and then lose 2 in a row.

Sharapova recently lost her 23-0 night match streak at the US Open

With all due respect to the neutrals out there, I hope this game isn't close. Close finals can start tomorrow night.
If it's not close I'm pretty sure it's yours. I can conceive a hard fought Hawks win, but not a blowout. I cant recall seeing the Tigers uncompetitive for a long time.

Why would there be 60k tiger fans and FA hawks at the game?
Do tigez have a large number of afl or mcc members or something? Would expect the crowd to be pretty even.

possibly although we dwarfed carlton and geelong in recent finals... blues were made to feel like an interstate club that day as were the cats.

Would be an interesting tactic although as we push the ball fwd at all costs and run fwd I don’t think it would work.

Like you say, you guys often just handball forward from contested situations, swarm and get the turnover, then have space out in front. I think one tactic could be to concede the contest by holding onto the ball, even if you give away the free you probably would get the turnover anyway and at least you give teammates enough time to run back and reset defence. Hawks have always been really good at creatively playing the rules, but then again I think Richmond are pretty good at that too

It bothers me not but I find it intriguing that a wonderful club like Hawthorn who have basically schooled the comp for the last 40 years will be the more popular result for opposition fans than the tigers who’ve been putrid for the same time.
Takes me way way back to being the truly hated team.
Imagine 2 years ago if somebody said “I hope Hawthorn can beat big bad Richmond in the finals!”
Best.

All the best to all teams, and fingers crossed no injuries.

I would definitely prefer Richmond to win it. Not a great fan of either side, but Hawks have had enough, let the Tiges catch up a bit. Dunno why Richmond's success has provoked so much hatred really.

The Richmond fans made the mistake of thinking they were allowed to celebrate it. UNACCEPTABLE

I think you would really have to dig deep into the record books to find the last time #4 beat #1 in the 1st week of finals.
It's happened on five occasions, and interestingly all of the matches were outside Victoria.

2002 = Port Adelaide 95-108 Collingwood
2003 = Port Adelaide 88-100 Sydney
2005 = Adelaide 57-65 St Kilda
2006 = West Coast 84-85 Sydney
2016 = Sydney 55-91 GWS

There is a bit of that.
I think Richmond were a free hit and it was open slather from all fans with little fear of retribution if we are honest. But if that day ever came well it was going to be hang on to your hats stuff, and many who handed it out (not all), just can’t handle it.
I have warned our own supporters who bait and troll that a Carlton will again have their day one day and you’d better look out when it comes. They too will be hated.

The weather will no doubt play a part. If it rains or does not, there will be a winner.

One thing for sure, umpires will play a part.
We are due for a few gifts. Umpires have given us a few rough weeks on the trot. ..plus i wanna hear richmond fans lose their shit

I recall with fondness, or maybe fear, Geelong fans some 10 years ago devising the term "Free kick Hawthorn". I hope this doesnt rear again tonight.

In my opinion the Hawks are one of the worst 4th placed sides in recent memory, and I think they are going to be exposed for what they really are tonight which is a borderline top 8 side at best. They did find some good form in the back half of the year but nothing to suggest to me they are going to be anywhere near it tonight. Could look like a fool in a few hours time but I'm sticking with that. Good luck to both sides.
