We really are in a crazy age of football when a team can dominate a half like Richmond just did and page after page is blaming umpires. 41 to 14 uncontested marks, 10.3 from 21 inside 50s etc.

Don't get me wrong, Grimes flopped and deserves a fine. Cotchin got away with a throw that was obvious on a replay (try catching it in real time at ground level when he did flick his wrist like a handball). But really the margin is just so not due to the umps it's not funny. Richmond would be maybe 5-6 goals up instead of 7 if the umps didn't give them the rub of the green tonight.

Dogs got away with quite a few throws as well... It's one of those things that only ever gets paid 2/10, in all games.

An observation from the ground. All the different shades of yellow on Richmond supporters jumpers, scarves and beanies are quite remarkable. Some are decades old based on sponsors etc.

Tends to happen when a team has been around for more than eight seasons.
See my hat.Thats old. Though most members wear the new merch that comes with a membership or fork out for the latest premiership season merch.

I guarantee if they showed footage across the entire game, and any other game for that matter, you'd see the same thing happen multiple times by both teams. They picked this one out because Grimes flopped. Just a terrible free kick regardless of which team you support.

Terrible rule. Correct free kick.

Why kick like that? He had space in front of him. Whatever works I guess
Far more comfortable kick for most modern players, as long as you don’t overkick it, all you can really do is hook it to the near side. Whereas with a drop punt you can spray it either way. So with a snap you can stick it just inside the far goalpost and have a greater margin for error.

For all the heat the Dogs are copping, yeh they've been smashed so far tonight, but theyve won 6/7 coming into tonight, have been one of the form teams in the comp.
Please don't introduce logic into this madhouse. It's better if emotion and ill judged reckless comments rule the roost here. We're not changing the name of this place to 'Rational Footy'

Omfg nothing in that. fu** this game
Would be nice to just see two teams fight it out without four umpires with limited knowledge of the rules have such an influence. Losses are much easier to accept if that were the case.
Hang in there bro!! GO DOGS

Umpire whinging is the reason game day threads struggle to be fun or interesting.
