O'Connor, Close and Henry are all very good.

Maybe, I reckon if they were at most other clubs they'd look like list cloggers. Consistently good sides with good systems make players look better than they are - Geelong, Richmond, West Coast, Hawthorn for a long time. And consistently bad sides where the whole place is a shambles make players look worse than they actually are - St Kilda, Carlton, GC, Freo.

Didn't someone say recently he was THE best defender in the League? Surely he should be able to handle him as the best.
He's one of the best, if not the best, at his role. He equalled the all time record for intercept marks last week and most cats fans are starting to put him up in Enright territory. But his role is not being one out against terrier small forwards with the ball already on the ground at full back.

I'm having trouble locating the actual rule at the moment and wouldn't mind that one clarified because to my current knowledge that's the wrong interpretation of that contest as he held ground at the site of the ball drop rather than electing to contest a jump and blocked his opponent getting a run at it. But if it is as you say then you'd be right...not going to lie it seems to be against what you'd ideally like to see at a centre bounce though.

Happy to be wrong, could do with the refresher on this one as it's one of the areas of the game that doesn't get a lot of clear attention in the media.
The interesting thing about the free was that the umpire called "unrealistic attempt" which I was under the impression of being applicable to a marking contest only.

Xavier Ellis,,
And some dude from the guardian,,,
Wayne Carey is a good judge the other 2 ????
But I appreciate you providing the links thanks
Joel is a great leader no 2 ways about it, but he wouldn't be in the top 10 maybe 20 of greatest captains the game has seen
And let me guess... Cotchin is in that top 10 group???? ha ha ha ha ha ha yea right

No way, you not have seen many Cats games this year. Close down tonight but is the first legitimate small forward we've had in years. Henry an extremely mobile defender/rover type who will only get better. O'Connor I believe is being groomed to tag Martin in finals which is how highly the club rates him.

Yeah maybe. I'm just picturing Close freezing to death in our forward line while we bomb it straight to his opponent all night.
