If a nuffie wants to create an arbritrary timeframe, why is 65 relevant?
Well it isn't for the whole history of the comp, none the less no use arguing about the last 65 years is it. Can't win that argument unless you're debating it with a saints or dogs fan.

Again why do you think 65 years is relevant?

Why not 35 or 15?

How is a flag from the 60s relevant but the 50s isnt?

Because there was less teams, not a national competition, not professional etc, no one alive remembers it ...

No one is saying they mean nothing, but I would rate geelong's 2022 cup over whoever won it in 1906.

And how would rate the 2123 premiers vs the 2023 premiers?

So a 1920s premiership is the same as a 1980 premiership.

Same teams (12), not national comp (VFL) not professional, both ancient history

Good luck convincing an Eagles fan that their 2018 is better than 2006 just because the Suns and Giants were now part of the comp

Nothing says salty more than bringing out the “March premiers” and “we’re your grand final” lines.

Believe it or not, but Richmond is not Collingwoods arch rival or grand final, no matter how much you wish it were true. Looking forward to Richmond becoming irrelevant for another 35 odd years and their insufferable supporters consequently going back in to the woodwork.
You'd never believe it from reading this thread. Collingwood supporters seem utterly obsessed with Richmond and really, really want us to be upset after your round 3 Victory. What did Richmond do to Collingwood? Apart from train your Coach and be the inspiration for your game plan of course.

Well going by your logic, the 2123 flag team is much better than 2023 flag team, seeing how you don't rate a flag from 100 years ago to now.
You're starting to sound like an insecure Geelong supporter now.
There was a bunch of them at my daughter's school the other day trying to steal all the participation awards so they could write books and lobby that they be included in their AFL premiership tally.
Don't be like Geelong supporters Carringbush2010

For all the talk of Nick Daicos being a cheap possession gatherer, he ended up having more contested possessions than majority of a hardened Richmond side. Only Richmond’s starting midfield (Nank, Taranto, Prestia and Cotchin) and Baker and Bolton had more for the night.

The kid can win his own footy when he needs to, and will only get stronger and better.

Like someone saying to you that your B2B was courtesy of covid. Stupid logic.
You could possibly have that argument if 2020 was won by a team that came from nowhere however as it was contested by the reigning premier and the team they beat in the previous years prelim it doesn’t hold any weight.
Add to that the fact both teams had to win on their opponents home ground to make the grand final, it’s a silly argument.
Of the 3 flags Richmond won from 17-20, 2020 was without doubt the most difficult.

Comments in this thread sound eerily similar to this one a few years back… people never learn

History is more likely to rhyme than repeat - if it rhymes we win the PF this time and smash Rich in the GF.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Wow - Coll supporters obsessed with Rich after a win, in a Coll vRich post game thread.
Who would have thought- LOL
Suck it up Sunshine.

No - it’s a benchmark that is arbitrary and irrelevant, that’s the point.
Of course it's irrelevant, you don't need to tell me, but stupid Pie posters take the bait around premiership discussion and engage in debate they can't win about '2 in the last 60 years'

Something all and sundry already know, I'm saying don't engage in it.
