The response of someone who knows they got a tug from the AFL
Oh I wasn’t aware the AFL injured all your players. I’m with you now.

Downright corruption in some cases, but selectively so it doesnt seem too obvious...but to anyone paying attention it IS bleeding obvious. Other clubs get the rub now and then, but I haven't seen such a consistent PATTERN as Collingwood getting late fees go their way in close games since late 2022 in my 30 years watching. It coincided with all the media hubub about them too. Hawthorn in 15-16 came closest. Arguably Bulldogs late in 16. Never remember complaining much about them prior to them. Surely I'm not alone.
It's confirmation bias.

It's why so many supporters think a particular umpire is biased against their club.

Pies got more than the rub of the green tonight. Dogs were more than a little screwed.

Umps weren't biased tonight, they were just shit.

Big difference.

I definitely agree politics and other areas.
However no one can put fourth a coherent fact based argument why in the afl this is happening. If it was about money or power. Surely the bigger more lucrative clubs should be dominating constantly. They are not. Why didn’t Carlton get the rub of the green last night? They have links to the mafia and are a bigger club. Bulldogs in 2016? Surely Sydney winning would grow the game in NSW and generate more cash for the AFL?

There are so many more counter points. It just sounds like the maiden call of the loser.
Media are riding the 'Hollywood Hawks' the way they rode 'Fly's Pies' in 23. Any surprise theyre flag faves this early? Granted a good case could be made for them regardless.

Can name countless other examples. Adelaide x2 in 23, Carlton twice, GWS prelim, North last year etc.

Yep.

Almost lost to an undermanned Bulldogs, but got help from the umps. Destroyed Port at the MCG but that is standard for them.

Nothing too impressive so far.
Building nicely..... Hopefully... bit inaccurate tonight. I think we should beat Carlton, but who really knows. Football can be cruel.

Exactly my point.

You're choosing to look at games with a close margin. Surprisingly you didn't choose games where Collingwood won by 5+ goals? You're trying to find something that isn't there.

Umpiring is ridiculously subjective that you can pick any game - big or small margin, big or small club - and write a 5000-word thesis on why a team got screwed. Pick any quarter of any game tomorrow and there will be over 100 decisions where you could earnestly say it was a 50/50 call; or you could pick 10+ dodgy-ish decisions. The fans, the media, the wider footballing public just don't talk about them when the margin is inconsequential.

But I'm not going to change your mind, nor anyone else's on here. Too many people have been conditioned to believe the umpires are always involved in some grand conspiracy; coincidentally it most often involves their club.

First off it’s “Maiden” call. Second you obviously cannot comprehend what the word “Facts” means. Come back with something better than Vic bias trash if you want to continue this discourse. 😮‍💨
He pollutes every thread he enters with spiels about the corrupt, Vic bias league and the media/umpiring based favouritism they get. The odd whinge here and there would be okay. But it is almost every single comment he makes - how to complain about the league and its difficulties for non Vic teams.

He doesn’t have to though.

He’s good enough in a whole bunch of areas, and plays for the right team, to make up for the lack of physicality he shows.
Now I have heard it all. A Port Adelaide supporter critiquing a Collingwood player for an alleged "lack of physicality"! I mean the latter phrase would apply to just about every player on your list every week. Give me a break. Goodnight & good luck.
