The media lovefest for McRae, Daicos, Pendles, Sidey, Moore in particular has always rubbed me the wrong way. So manufactured. This goes hand in hand. I went from mildly disliking them since the Eddie era to loathing them since Fly took over. I don't even want to hate them that much but when this happens again and again it just makes their games unwatchable.

Could you imagine Eddie on every media format possible if Collingwood copped what the WB copped?

The 2023 prelim v GWS should have been investigated but this was just bad.

Fans need to start boycotting afl games and hit them in the pocket. If they see blatant unfair umpiring just walk out of the stands, switch off the TV, tell the afl they'll be tuning out until it's rectified.

Unfortunately for many, including myself, footy has become an addiction, an opiate for the masses. Like a lot of modern day entertainment it's used to control us.

If Bulldogs fans stopped going no one would notice 😂😂😂😂

of course it’s manufactured, most aspects of this comp are manufactured.

It makes US pro sports look natural and completely off script.

AFL have realised that you will always support the clubs, so they’re quite happy to be hated as you’ll always support your club and won’t quit.

The most "farcial" rule "interpretation" (apologies Ross Lyon) is the 15m minimum kick rule.

Just a total joke .

There were were at least three "marks" called by the Dumpires tonight in the forward 50, none of which could of carried more than 12 metres.

Compare those with some of the "NOT 15!!!!, PLAY ON!!" calls that defenders regularly cop.

There was a kick Dane Zorko executed from the back pocket in the Sydney game that traveled at least 20 metres.

"NOT 15 PLAY ON!!, PLAY ON!!!"

I get that Zorko is not an Umpire favorite but it exemplifies the obvious Umpire bias against defenders in general..

How about applying the rules fairly umpires, instead of playing the position and even worse, playing the man?
Yeah this one triggers me, for some reason the 15 metre rule only applies in the defensive half. A short kick into 50m is always given leeway but short kicks in the backline are always play on.

Only one idiot you mean everyone with two eyes

Or just 2 brain cells who’ve never read the laws of the game.

You obviously missed the 2 handed shove in the back and mark paid to the Dogs early in the game under the same interpretation. This one JDG used the forearm magnificently and took the mark in the same motion, no free kick,

I find Eddies biasedness kind of endearingly funny nowadays, but stuff like tonight will keep me hating the Pies. I was starting to...not like them, but not mind them as much in 2021 actually. Im actually surprised they don't seem to be getting more hate for cheating so frequently the last few years.

Maybe for some of us we want that feeling of righteous anger cos we have no other tangible enemy. Others go into politics (not to equate a footy game to bigger injustices, but similar psychology).

The problem for the umpires tonight was they started off their usual free kick Dogs giving them 4-5 soft ones to begin, but for the first time ever there was actually a crowd in attendance and the umpires felt the stick and started paying them both ways.

Usually in Dogs games there’s no crowd so no pressure to change their bias.

But we understand it’s a difficult night, it’s the first time a lot of Bulldogs fans have ever seen their team lose a free kick count and they’re shocked, they didn’t even realise half these rules existed as they’ve always gotten away with it.

Just wait until they start pinging the Dogs players for throws, that’ll really shock their fans when they learn it’s not legal!!!
Farrk me someone from Collingwood talking about throwing the ball??. Yes Bulldogs, Carlton and the biggest throwing team is COLLINGWOOD...

Do we even know what a handball is is anymore watching these 3 clubs??

I have zero respect for the conspiracy theory crowd. Do they even mean it themselves?
As for Hawthorn fan never noticing a trend of a team getting favoured before .. may I remind everyone of ...

Some combination of paranoia, egotism, and a desire for uniqueness, and promoting what they believe to be a superior social identity drives these cretins. They are harmless enough in small numbers but when they are fed by disinformation campaigns and even infiltrate governments...

It's bewildering to me that after 150+ years of Australian Rules Football some people still genuinely believe that free kicks are required to be distributed out evenly
What an odd thing to say really.

You can say that about anything. Like the following…
It’s bewildering to me that after 150+ years of Australian Rules Football some people still genuinely believe that the results of football games are NOT influenced by off field factors such as media favoritism, betting sponsorships, or which geographic area certain teams are based in.

People who think most govt and corporations and big pharma the lot care about any fairness or anyone's wellbeing is naive to the full humans are a million times more corrupt than those who watch mainstream media could ever know AFL the same the bias stands out like dog balls watched the last half match fixing unfortunately dog supporters do look nice far nice humans than the pies one must say fun watching this from AFAR Propaganda Land best viewed from afar

Ironic comment “big brain stuff’.

He was moved back after our fullback did and ACL within a couple of minutes of the game starting.

Had to reshuffle the mids and backs as Ned Long (midfielder) came on.
Perryman is averaging 12.5 disposals over the last two games and was recruited to come in as a midfielder.

Meanwhile you have the 37 and 34 year old Pendles and Sidebottom in the midfield. Couldn’t one of those guys have swung back? Why wouldn’t you get games into the future on ballers?

Mind-boggling stuff. 37 and 34 years old. Wow.

I completely agree.

Still doesn't really have anything to do with what I said though
