Can't see the Lions losing this, but think they would just lose to the Pies the next week , Carlton more chance of winning the flag imo, wouldn't trust Brisbane at the MCG in the granny.

Hope Carlton win, but Brisbane by 20, but not sure why people dismiss Carlton

Carlton essentially playing with house money considering what they've achieved this season but it's never a nice feeling to lose a Prelim, regardless of the circumstances surrounding it and they're not guaranteed to return next year.

Carlton can lose without embarrassment, the same cannot be said for Brisbane. If we lose this game, our record as modern day chokers is certified. Far more pressure on Brisbane to perform than Carlton.

Curnow & McKay are the big worries for me coming into this match. I rate the Rozee/Butters combo the highest in the league for midfields and we dealt with that despite them playing well, so not overly worried about the midfield battle in this match and the Lions forward line is the best in the comp.

So the question for me, can Carlton get their twin pillars firing? If they can, game on and this is every chance of turning into a boil over. If not, then I think it's fair to say the Lions should run out comfortable winners.

Prediction: Curnow & McKay to put on a show and the Blues to steal it at the death, heartbreak for the Lions and ridicule to come our way. Carlton by 5 points.

Lions by 50+.

Last year we were criticised for melting in the big moments. This year we're being criticised when we hang on and win the big moments at the end of games.
Don't worry, we get the same treatment.

It's only Collingwood that gets applauded for winning close games.

But you gotta remember that collingwood actually train for these close moments.

It’s a shame no other coach in the history of the competition has thought about doing close finish match simulations.

Copied and pasted from the last game?
Ouch. That nerve hurts, doesn’t it?

Brisbane are a far better prospect than Melbourne and you’re travelling. If not for Melbournes inaccuracies we’d be going to Brisbane for a tanning. However, bad kicking is bad footy and you did well. My opinion is that you won’t beat Brisbane.

I am really sorry, but you can’t just divert to the Melbourne game as your response if a Melbourne poster tips the Lions. It’s toys out of the cot stuff.

Feels like a bridge too far, but no doubt by Saturday I'll be thinking we'll win by 10 goals.
Don’t think it’ll be a blow out. A lot can be said for the momentum you’ve got. I think in order to win this you’ll need Curnow to have a night on the town. Feel like the stingier defences have nullified him a bit. Andrews tracking well for the Lions. However, your midfield bats deep. You’ve got seriously talent to pull and your defence is solid.

It’ll be down to Weitering and Curnow having big games. If they’re your best two, you win. Huge effort if you go up there and get it done.

Harry and Martin back for Carlton is huge. Our half forwards are so important. If we let Brisbane link up with handballs and get speed on the ball we are cooked. If we can make it a slower, contested game we are a sneaky chance of getting within a couple of goals.

Our defence has been nothing short of unbelievable the second half of the year. Brisbane's forward line is so dangerous. Whichever team can win the contested ball and dominate territory should win.

Carlton are not in the best form. So they have big upside. Their lunatic fan base will travel and I can see it being very competitive, and noisy, if they can bring big pressure. Pressure is and has always been the every team's cryptonite.

Yep. They’ll all be flying up. Mad as cut snakes the lot of ‘em.
