Bad umpiring makes this sport unwatchable at times. It affects the results of games on a weekly basis. Of course people are going to complain about it when it has such a large impactHard to ignore when 80% of threads are people sooking about it.
Main board game day threads have gone to s**t.
Lol how many missed holds have there been for Adelaide? In that play there were after the clear holding the man that wasn’t paid.
The holding the ball that followed for the Crows was also absolutely there, just as blatant.

Think perhaps it’s a lack of accountability? The more umpires there are the easier it is to think “oh I thought I saw something but the other umpire hasn’t signalled anything, I’ll leave it up to him to decide”. Kind of a bystander effect.Genuine question
Has it got worse since 4 umpires were introduced?
Or has the game sped up
It really feels like the quality has gone downhill since 4 umps
Too much confusion in when to handover when the game is going so fast ?

More heads, more inconsistency that's allIMO four umpires has not improved anything.
Coupla goals tis all. That's the same every game but. Some players are what I call koalas. Protected species. It is every thread and it is relentless.
I find it quite boring. The umpiring hasn’t impacted the game today at all.

Yeh spot onThink perhaps it’s a lack of accountability? The more umpires there are the easier it is to think “oh I thought I saw something but the other umpire hasn’t signalled anything, I’ll leave it up to him to decide”. Kind of a bystander effect.
Pharkun totes agree. Leave the rules. The game will have less grey areas. Also stop with the rule of the week that none knows about!I don’t see a need for 4 umpires but they were just as inconsistent when there were 3 of them.
More angles on the TV coverage and social media has made the problem seem worse. As long as humans are running the show there will be inconsistencies. The AFL need to always be on the ball in looking to minimise the mistakes but it’s never going to be perfect. Rule changes every other year and interpretation changes every other week doesn’t help.
To everyone but me....Sheesh what a bounce!
Crows playing their GF against us and what a surprise!
