Yep - any other facet of the sport, and that would be investigated for possible spot/match fixing.

Statisitcaly near impossible. It's not like Carlton started king hitting people.
Carlton gave away several frees in the middle by throwing arms out and collecting players high. Not king hits, but that was loterally the difference

Agreed.

But there is a case for Walsh ending up the most underwhelming player who had banked an incredible first few years. At the end of 2021 the sky looked like the limit.

Still an okay player, but his disposals largely range between blind dump kicks and baffling skill errors or poor decisions.

He’s been carltonised

Might hold some water if 5 of Carltons 8 goals didn't come from free kicks.
But go off again you obsessed little broken record.

We're living so rent free in your head, it's honestly hilaruous
Should've been more, umps blatantly ignored clear frees and awarded Hawks for light breezes passing them by, as usual.

Carlton’s skill level is atrocious, just hack kicks to packs constantly , I rarely see them even try to hit a player in space .
Doesn’t help ver few of their players to lead
They didn’t try to run it or pass to a free man at all that last quarter. It was always to 1 v 1 or 1 v 2. Just bizarre work from the Carlton leaders (do they have a leader?)

Would love to see a free kick “heat map” for this year and last. Hawthorn would have a beautiful red zone right up the guts with a nice spattering on red 30m of goal.

Swans did too in R1. Essendon not so much last week but Carlton got a bunch of F50 frees this week too.

The AFL for the last few years has instructed the umpires to pay more. Because we love goals and Ch 7 loves running extra ads.

The irony was, the Blues got a few soft frees up forward but the umpires missed a blatant holding free. They were quick to pay all the holds too so that one was a little baffling.

I don't blame him, but geez Cripps looked slow on the turn against Watson there
A 195cm 92kg big bodied midfielder, who is known for his strength rather than speed and follows the ball around all game looked slow late in the game vs a 170cm 68kg small forward who is known for speed over strength and covers half the ground...
Colour me shocked!

Even when their players do find space or break the game open, you're just waiting for them to stuff up via skill error or poor decision. If they do get it to someone inside 50, you don't trust them to finish it off. Then they're quite poor at defending ball movement.

They can't take the next step until some or all of those issues are rectified. It's threatening to actually send them backwards.
