10 minutes to go it was 27 - 16 Hawthorn's way.

Ended up 28 - 24. A third of Carltons free kicks came in the last 10 minutes.

Before any Hawkies melt down I'm not commenting on overall umpire quality because I didn't pay enough attention, but statistically that's unreal.
Yep - any other facet of the sport, and that would be investigated for possible spot/match fixing.

Statisitcaly near impossible. It's not like Carlton started king hitting people.

Talking about umpiring is laughable again.

High pressure game causes more paid. Especially when it was wet.

220+ pressure rating for Hawthorn over the game is insane.

Handled it better and the class of the two teams was the difference, Hawthorn cut Carlton to pieces on the outside and forced hack kicks forward even with the inside edge of Carlton.
17 other supporter bases just saw the Hawks get handed the momentum in the last quarter with a run of free kicks to start it

Will Day the most overrated player in the afl. 5 dumb as frees against. Sloppy. low footy iQ and can't handle light tags.
So you have moved on from Watson then?

Symptomatic of the deadshits that are the football department. Clueless muppets.

I could have told you he was cooked two years ago for free

Defensive structure is up the creek. Was a strong point a couple years ago. Now we constantly get caught out of position on the turnover, so we're chasing tail way too much, which tires the players.
IMO we're playing too many guys out of position and making bad calls on team selection and sub.
Don't know who's responsible for all that, but it's gone on for far too long.
It seems new to me, I still recall that massive come back OR last year. You guys dug deep, had the energy & commitment to not roll over.

That has changed in the back end of 2024 and now start of 2025. I had more hope for Carlton in 2025 but man this start has not been good and it's not just the results, it's what's happening on the pitch. The fumbles, the lack of energy, not getting 4 quarter efforts, you can go on.

Blues can still turn things around, it's a long season and the Hawks are a great side but the time has to be now or it'll be too late.

wow you are a moron, how sad it is to believe this shit
It was 8 - 1 Carltons way in the last 10 minutes. That seems very unlikely give it was 27 - 16 the previous 3.5 quarters.

Again, I'm not for a second suggesting Hawthorn's first 27 were bad calls or bias, I didn't pay enough attention. Just the rush at the end Carltons way was weird.

You should have another look at the history of the draft
Agreed.

But there is a case for Walsh ending up the most underwhelming player who had banked an incredible first few years. At the end of 2021 the sky looked like the limit.

Still an okay player, but his disposals largely range between blind dump kicks and baffling skill errors or poor decisions.

Happy with the effort.
Walsh was better for the run last week - 12 tackles + 5 clearances this week.
Charlie will be better for the run this week hasnt had game since round 21 and always is out of form when returning from injury - 3-4 weeks away..

Hopefully get H back next week

Sucks we lost but where we are this time of the season pleased with everything considered. Newman would have helped alot today. Not alot of stupid mistakes - just our two vice captains coming back from injury have yet to hit peak match fitness.

Think this team will improve again next week.
