South v Hawks ---- Cutters to win at home----Reserves match is the Kris Seivers Memorial , the Seniors will entertain the 2003 Premiers . This match every year is fiercely fought out and a great spectacle. The club is also raising money in the way of an auction of the game day jumpers for Harold's House.

Tigers v Bulldogs---- Dogs to be ripped to threads.

Saints v Crocs---- if Crocs played like last week, this will be a fantastic match to see, anyway Port for mine

I know it's probably for personal reasons but I see Jason Rowe has resigned and Marc Harbrow will be taking over as coach for the rest of the season. Any updates Cairns City Lion?

Gribble was quoted in saying that he doubted Norths had be pushed like Hawks pushed them on Friday night. Obviously forgot the week Saints beat Norths Clinton.

Just because Saints beat Norths doesn't necessarily mean that Norths were pushed. ;)

a general bye this week for all

Souths were back on the winners list this past week D Lock got his first win as a coach

Now for this week

Suns v Tigers

will the Tigers HOODOO continue here in Cairns or will they come ROARING home? This is the last of the 3 year commitment for the Tigers, hope to see them back another year down the track. Just hope the Gold Coast keep coming up each year. Maybe a derby with Brisbane one year then each yr after ?

The main winner here will be Cairns Juniors, as I see it with more and more kids getting to see their heroes and wanting to play our great game of :footy:

Personally, I am very disappointed at the way it was handled, Roey is a good bloke & deserved better. But as the paper said, no bad blood etc & ultimately every coach is judged by the W column. Marc is a quality guy who has been excellent with our junior development this year & we all wish him well for the rest of the season. We have 3 very winnable games coming up to get us off the bottom, onwards & upwards....

My old team back home hardly won a game in the last 4 seasons i was there. But never was there a change of coach during the season. I think its time for these clubs who continue to sack or part ways with coaches to hire a quality player coach from down south or go with someone in house and loyal who's not going to chuck it in. Viola, Kennedy, Cooper, Powell, Richter have all or were around their clubs for long periods of time thats why their clubs have been successful or in Tigers case on the up.

Back to the normal grindstone this week, here is my kiss of death.

Centrals V Port Douglas - I don't envy any team that has to play under lights at Crathern. I think this will be a close encounter but will go with the Crocs.

Lions V Norths - North to prevail.

Saints V Hawks - As much as I would love to see the Hawks get up, the Saints are hitting form again at the business end of the season.

Have to agree on these tips, ;)

Anytime playing at Wallaby Park at night is a nightmare, these lights are way beyond satisfactory, I cannot understand why thy are STILL allowed to carry out this falseness of LOOK ----WE HAVE LIGHTS, these are only worthy of being called very very decent training lights.

Sorry Lions not this week.

Saints in a cake walk they are hitting targets quite well,
may run to the finals from this undefeated.

To me the only two teams that will be in the GF are Tigers and Saints.

An early pick ---- neck on the chopping block

Tigers ,

Kane will be at the top of his game in coaching and manoeuvre the ladz into believing in themselves and that Saints era is now over.

It is Tiger TIME

A couple of easy wins for Saints on the weekend. Hawks are a very young club and with a few key recruits and keep their kids coming through they will be back up there in a couple if seasons. Big game against Norths this week to see where Saints are really at

Some floggings handed out on the weekend I read. The Norths one my be close to a Cairns record.
If I remember correctly Saints did one of these huge scores a few years a ago,
can't remember against who

Mmnnn Saints V Norths one interesting tussle too come. :)

Can anyone from Saints or Hawks shed light on Gribble not shaking hands at the end of the game against Saints for the 2nd time this year.... He has turned a once succesful club into a rabble with all key players moving on...

Kiss of Death Round 16

Saints v Tigers --- Saints on a roll will remain undefeated till the GF the Norths to knock Em off

Bulldogs v Souths ---- this is the first game in three weeks for the Cutters, they should FALL over the line. BUT anything can happen will be close.

Hawks v Lions--- Hawks need to be swabbed and would be if they were in the racing game. The punters would be screaming for their money. Lions should get their second win of the year against a once good side that's on the slide. Harbrow will be rubbing his hands with this encounter his first win as a Senior coach.

I was at the game but didn't see that one and nor did anyone say anything afterwards (Saints or Hawks players). o_O

Particularly in the Ressies.

For what it's worth, my kiss of death this week.

Saints V Norths - Saints to win in front of their home crowd. Saints have players back and you can just see the wind picking up at the business end of the season.

Centrals V Cutters - The Bulldogs have a couple of injuires I hear but I think they will want to show some redemption after their last couple of starts. I'm going for the Bulldogs in a tight one.

Hawks V Lions - To keep having a chance at making the 4, the Hawks need to win this. I think this should be motivation enough to win at home at Cazalys.

;)

Cutters??

Tips...

Norths to beat Saints. Tigers had close to full team against us last week & they were big, strong, fast & ruthless. Reynolds coming back into the side adds another quality big man. We were very poor but I have a feeling their full side are better (just) than Saints this season. But we all know how good Saints are come the business end, should be a great game.

Centrals to beat Cutters. They are short on personnel but well coached & desperate. We should have beaten them twice this year but they willed themselves over the line, I think they will do that again this week.

Lions to beat Hawks. I have to say that! but we will need a bigger effort & everyone on deck to win this one with hawks still looking at 4th spot....

Hey guys, i'm looking to come to cairns to play footy for the 2014 season. What's the league like, standard wise, and what are the clubs to look for?

Interesting round of football

Lion indeed did get up over the Hawks. From what I was told this morning, Gribble tried to take a specky miss queued the grab, otherwise Hawks may have won. Well done Marc H on your sides win .:D

Tigers over Saints well knock me over with a feather, last week Saints come out with guns blasting away , one week later fall over, Not saying that Norths didn't deserve to win but gee where are the Drug Stewart to dope test some of these so called players. I want me money back, the bookies are killing me.

Souths over Centrals, the doggies deserved to win this , they had the better of the play all day spreading wide, which for some reason Souths refused to do, but when they did dogs had no come back at them.but their kicking (Doggies) was shocking 9 goals 20 behinds and kept Souths in the hunt, in the end Cutters only won in the last 5 minutes of the game. Last goal for Souths, Dogs had one man down cutters end field past the centre, ball went to ground , their player tripped over trying to regain ball, Jazza from Souths jump over him, regained, handball to the goal area Souths grab goal siren went when the ball returned to the middle. A very relieved side to win.

The emu patrol was out and about before the game took away a 26 litre bin full from the playing field
