Would rather a non tall first

Also would rather pick someone with more of a known position especially in a tall

Tauru played most of the year down back, we want as a forward. Doesnt sit entirely well with me

Also think Caddy along with either 2MP or Harry Jones can carry the forward line for a fair bit
Good luck with that.

How does Tauru differ from Ollie Henry for example as a medium sized player that does his best work in the air and isn’t a pressure player?

Or is he more taller Kai Lohmann who is a far more well rounded player as a better runner, accumulator and tackler?

Hes 193/194

Youd be hoping hes Curnow Fwd or Cripps midfield

Doesn’t immediately strike me as having key position size and shape but I’ll defer on that one. Certainly attacks the ball in the air with vigour so there will be some spillages with him and Caddy about.

I agree with that first inital thought

I think the upside is also heavily into his age (still yet to turn 18)

Has grown a fair bit in height this year

to get the most out of caddy, I think we probably need a more stay at home forward with size. Not sure Tauru is that guy.

Down back Ridley is a perfect 3rd back interceptor.

Let’s try and make caddy more Jeremy Cameron roamer than a bear in the square.
I think you can build a forward line around two very aggressive mobile forwards who have a good leap and are strong marks. You would not need to make Caddy a bear. My view is you would not need to change him at all. The forward pressure would not fall away either. I am not sold on absolutely needing a monster FF.

Whats your order for our pick ant?

Whats your order for our pick ant?
Have no set order to be honest. There would be 9 guys we could pick and I would not complain. Some may not get to us but in no exact order
Lalor
Langford
Travaglia
Kako
Berry
Hotton
Armstrong
Tauru
Allan
Any of these guys could fill a spot for us if they live up to the potential
Not adverse to Smillie or Lindsay either.

If I was to nail it down to exactly what I wanted it would be no bid on Kako so we could draft Travaglia and Kako but I am not going to die on that Island. A combination of any of the above and Kako and I would not complain.

Reason I like Travaglia marginally over the rest is we need half back run desperately. He has endurance and okay speed. Is a real competitor and plays footy with a bit of hard edge. He could easily play some footy on the flank next year and be a good player in year 2.

Yeh if we get travaglia and kako, I reckon they both a shot to play round 1.

Fos won’t be at our pick. Reckon he goes 1 or 2, but think he’s going to be best player in the draft and the prototype mid/fwd we need.

Do you reckon we build our forward line and potentially go Armstrong? I'd love a double pronged talented attack.
Half back to me always seem to be one of those positions that whilst important, shouldn't outweigh the needs of the forward line, and ours is desperate for attention with the lack of promise from Jones, Menzie & Wright.

Anyway that's just me talking about what I want :).

There are several ways to go and in my opinion they need doing. Half back run. Tall forward. Good small forward. There is a good case for them all. I think half back is important as we sucked at moving the footy which is why the opposition could pin us down at times. Then as you say we need a good KPF as we fall down in that area and our small forwards are too slow or not at the level.

Hopefully this is where bringing in Conor Stone potentially helps us in that Half Back area.

I really like Travaglia but was a bit surprised by his very average 20m time at the Combine. That said, he looks quick on the field which is probably more important. Ran a great time trial.

As of today I’m keen on him or Lalor.

Lalor is reportedly in the mix for pick 1 so the odds of him getting to us are low.

Yeah. I thought he would be quicker than 3.18 . Guess what makes him look quicker is he is always running and finding space. Maybe it is also he can hold his top speed for a longer distance rather than outright burst and makes quick decisions as in the games I have watched I do not remember too many times he was really burnt by another player.

He has a really aggressive mindset re looking to take it on any time he gets the footy. I’m sure that helps.

It’s not a deal breaker at all but I was a bit surprised. Of course, he may be also be quicker but just ****ed it up on the day. It happens 🤷‍♂️
