FTA-TV AFL easily beats NRL on Friday night

... trying to keep people honest, e.g those that take the raw numbers & divide/subtract/add the number first thought of to PROVE they are correct.

hopefully they do the same to people who fail to take into account figures that arent included or that ratings for 2 match =/= 1 match etc etc etc etc. the arguments are endless. carry on.

I truly am flattered by all the attention. Maybe people would be better served playing the ball rather than the man.

Fact is, the AFL ratings in NSW and QLD continue to disappoint. 120k last saturday night in a do or die game for the Swans was unsatisfactory.

Rather than debate the issue Redb has chosen instead to simply brush this off and instead question whether I, an Aussie Rules supporter, even have the right to raise it simply because I'm also the mod of the Rugby league forum of Big Footy and I won't question these so called RL trolls? If I'm not mistaken I think he means AFL trolls. Who are they? Where are their threads trolling Aussie Rules? I see posts from CT, but who else is there? Everyone else seems to have him covered, so I'm not sure what more I can add. Oh, that's right. I can't be a member of the fraternity unless I pick him up on one of his posts.

As for Rugby league, well I will continue to go into bat for it when I see fit on this forum as I always have. In a respectable manner all while refusing to sink to the level of the people who troll other sports fans and who find personal abuse as the only way they can seem to make a point.

You manner is not respectable, and you do sink to troll levels. You have failed as a moderator. Leave.

Of course it is.

Where?

The two sub forums I look after are going beautifully.

I expect the Union forum will really pick up with the Rebels just about ready to roll and then we've got the World Cup too.

Nope.

Agree,back to LU.:thumbsu:

Johnny, mate, I never left. Hell, I'm even trying to stimulate some debate over there but all the Aussie Rules boys are stuck in TFC trolling.

The self appointed voice of reason. :p

Pay attention, the point is why does a moderator appointed to moderate the rugby league sub forum on AFL Bigfooty spend so much time making snide remarks about AFL TV ratings whilst defending the NRL and his own RL troll posters.

Good points. Hard to disagree.

the major difference in value comes in of course, when running times and delivered advertising space are considered.

Ultimately, for all the twoing and froing on figures it comes down to this.

We'll have a pretty good idea in the next 12-18 months when both sports renegotiate their rights on who's are worth more, hopefully without the spectre of the "Packer inflated the AFL's rights and the NRL's ownership structure devalues theirs" argument.

I'd be amazed if the AFL's weren't worth significantly more again because of the reason quoted, it's pretty basic stuff really.

It'll also be interesting to watch the hand-wringing when the day comes from the NRL types who swallow the Terrorgraph propaganda lock stock and barrel.

And listening to Ray Hadley last Sunday, he said that the Swans game "peaked" at 200,000 in Sydney, which given what it was up against is quite respectable in my view.

Wow.

You actually don't want me to support the game unless it's only in a positive way. Truly amazing.

Nice diversion though.

No you still dont get it do you? maybe some self reflection.

You moderate the sub forums with a tone for debate, not snide remarks, you reserve that for AFL TV ratings where it suits you.

You roam Bigfooty looking for opportunties to defend rugby league and put down AFL where it is defended.

You never defend AFL against some of the most delusional, pointless and factually inept troll attempts by NRLers yet will defend NRL against what you perceive as similiar comments.

Bigfooty is for AFL discussion and there are plenty of negative comments made about footy here, the difference is they come from people who care about the game. you care about rugby league, so can get take your bias and fug off back to the sub forums.

Perfect example of your bias and agenda: You started a thread in the sub forum " Melbourne loves rugby league" due to some TV ratings for a test.

Big footy is not your place to roam to defend rugby league, go to a league site you will be more than welcome and hack away at AFL. I'd accept the rugby league defending if it didnt come with the snide put downs on AFL expansion on an AFL site.

Get it? You come across as no better than caster troll.

This thread was started because the NRL was using two games to soemtimes claim a victory over the AFL on Friday Nights. There was of course more to the story. ;)

Anyway back to normal programming.

Go Cats. Can't wait for this game. :footy: Should produce a ratings point or two. :D

No offence Redb but Ive noticed you put RL down a lot on RL stories on The roar so this coming from you is a little hypocritical. :D

1. We are talking about Bigfooty, it is an AFL site. The Roar is a generic sports site.

2. I spend a considerable amount of time on the Roar talking about a lot of subjects, but when it comes to RL and AFL I spend a bit of time educating some of the innane comments from the NRL types. So I give a bit back every now and then. The RL types don't cope well and report me. :D

3. Arm yourself with some evidence that I do "a lot" of putting down RL on the Roar. I've written 1 article out of 32 that is rugby league or union related. Go check out my profile page.

What I hate on Big Footy is people who tell lies about other sports and other people. Welcome to the club.

Debate the issue or get out of the thread.

Well I've heard it's actually you at the roar running to Zac every time a mungo has a pop at AFL.

Your posts here would seen to validate that. :D

Lies, deceit, cronyism = NRL.

What lies? dont BS with diversion.

Not long to go before the big one. ;)

Collingwood by a goal and a half.

You know about my involvement in the game so there is no need to lie saying I don't care about it.

Now, about those ratings in NSW and QLD. :)

Source, i checked TV tonight and they are stoll not up yet.

I have not noticed this before but check the ratings for the footy show on thursday night, and then the ratings again when they are reversed later at night.

10 The Footy Show Nine 892,000 125,000 474,000 85,000 113,000 96,000

The Footy Show Late Nine 211,000 38,000 116,000 20,000 20,000 17,000

As many people watch the RL footy show in Melbourne as they do in Sydney,

What does this say ??.

OK, you could be right, great ratings for the AFL, Melbourne was incredible at over 800k, if the game was a close one, i wonder what they would have been.

Passable for Perth and Adelaide, but with no local teams involved understandable.

And that it wasn't exactly the sort of game that would have had neutrals on the edge of their seats.

The headline on that site says it all :thumbsu:

The ratings race: So far, AFL is beating the pants off NRL

Dont really care, but never thought it would be any different.

Thought the ratings would be better in Brisbane for the AFL, thought their was a much stronger AFL culture in Brisbane.
