Does this include 7mate? If not, what were the ratings for 7mate?

7mate ratings weren't reported at all for Saturday. I think it's because the channel was treated as a simulcast of the main channel and reported in the same figures. Sunday it's been reported separately.

Certainly 7mate's ratings weren't mentioned in 7's press release to do with the GF, and if it added to the figures you'd think they would talk about it.

7mate & 7 arent the same in TV world, which is about advertising revenue.

High ratings equate to higher rates.

What are you talking about now? Did you even read the press release?

Market shares now are about all your multichannels combined. It happens often where the main channel might get the largest audience share, but the network loses the night because of multichannels. Has happened to 10 quite a bit.

Didnt know of any Harold Mitchell close to your windy Khyber, this is the guy:

Leading media buyer and analyst Harold Mitchell claims soccer could surpass the NRL's $500 million deal and rub shoulders with the AFL.

Mitchell, the man who advised the AFL when they signed the unprecedented $780 million TV deal, predicted that Football Federation Australia's bargaining power would top the $100 million-a-year mark by the time the rights are up for renewal.

"The soccer rights should be a $100 million-a-year sport by 2013," Mitchell said. "It could be equal to the AFL by then if it is properly presented.
"No doubt it could surpass the NRL. The reason is it can grow into all the states, southern and western. Where the NRL is very strong in NSW and Queensland, soccer can grow into new areas more easily and readily. Also what's developing is that mums want their kids to play soccer

easy enough to ahve found yourself too. no need for your petty remarks.

Lower in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, higher in Sydney and way higher in Brisbane.

The game attracted an average national audience of 3.6 million viewers, compared to 3.7 million who watched the grand final draw on September 25.

In all 5.7 million people flicked to the football for at least five minutes during the Magpies' premiership thrashing of the Saints, compared to 5.6 million the previous week.

As expected, Melbourne drew the biggest audience with the home of AFL amassing almost three times as many viewers as any other capital city.
Almost 1.5 million Melburnians tuned in to watch the historic premiership decider, with 524,000 viewers in Sydney, 451,000 in Brisbane, 354,000 in Perth and 311,000 in Adelaide.

Gallop is claiming higher season audiences for the NRL:
Gallop said there was no imperative to out rate the AFL grand final replay on the same weekend, with figures this week indicating the NRL led its rival in total audience numbers for the year.

AFL apologists queue to the front, someone call the ambos ...

Typically this will be because they compare:

NRL - 24 H & A rounds plus finals, State of Origin, Toyota Cup
AFL - 22 H & A rounds plus finals

So we're talking about 45-50 more games of football.

Congratulations.

Dont want to jumped on by RL fans, and i know that QLD is a RL state, but i really can see QLD being a very strong aussie rules state, those ratings are very strong.

I think that's a fair assumption. Queenslanders seem far more other sport friendly than, NSW, Vic, SA and WA.

Weather has been terrible in Brisbane. Cloudy with showers on and off. Weather would have forced many to have a quiet weekend at home and with school starting back on Monday many would have returned from holidays who might have missed last week's game.

I wouldn't read too much into one off games. Plenty of one off events in other sports that people don't give a rats ass about have rated highly in the past.

Mind you, Queensland has always had a reasonable following for the game.
