The list is nowhere near what it's made out to be, but yeah Ken wanted them.

It's a list built to beat up on bottom 10 sides. Entertain their supporters in home games and consistently make the top 4.

But not good enough across the best 24 to be a contender.


Koch's mandate is not to win flags. But to provide a match day product that keeps the club financially viable. It also gives supporters enough success to give false hope to keep coming back.


Port are the definition of a Franchise sporting organisation under Koch.

And looking at the Reserves side, he's right.

They get SPP back next year which will mean they don't have to pick McEntee or Evans, that'll improve them.... but not enough.

There's a lot of unexposed players there.
I don't watch SANFL so have no idea how players like Anastopoulous, Charleson, Scully, McCallum, X.Walsh, K.Marshall are going.
A few seem to rate Visentini...Lorenz got a game late, and I thought Lord was good when he played finals last year (albeit reportedly not up to it this year).
With the gaps in quality or age being Dixon, Boak, Narkle, Esava, McEntee, (McKenzie also retiring, Clurey likely gone), they really need to find at least another 5 solid contributors somewhere. SPP is 1. With a bunch of other players that also can't be trusted; Marshall, Finlayson, Sinn, Williams, BZT, F. Evans....it's either going to take a new coach to get the best out of them, or a big list turnover. That can't be done in 1 off season

Hell of a time to break the winning big games at MCG hoodoo.

For everyone saying our start killed us think back to our draw with Brisbane early in the season. We were basically on equal points, and it was seen as ‘an elimination final’. The draw was seen as being bad for both teams and each team’s season effectively over.

We ended up bottom 4 and Brisbane are playing off in the grand final.

Should tell you about the grit of the two different teams.

this is so seriously simplistic. and wrong. the facts:

• Lions were flag faves heading into the year. They are a finals hardened and experienced team who has made prelims each of the last 3 years, have made top 4 five out of 6 years (end of minor round) and finals every single year since 2019. To try and compare where they are at to us as a club is completely non-sensical
• Lions had one of the easiest draws - rated 4th easiest playing the 11-12th based team on average for their 6 double up games (5 non finalists twice inc 4 of the bottom 7 twice). Crows played the average 4-5th team on average for each of their double up games. Trying to compare our draws is ridiculous.

Plenty to be critical of our team without making up irrelevant comparisons

Yep, Ken and his team are out and he certainly has shown us he IS the big O in prelim finals. Maybe he is telling us he will aim for a record of 0-5 in prelims next year and despite all the port supporters wanting him out, he is still their number 1
