So I should hold off getting my Telstra phone contract in the hope they dish out free live pass again? I'm trying to get rid of my Foxtel, it's a massive rort

I'm hoping Telstra offer it again as they charge enough premium

Luckily caught an email in my junk filter about Telstra charging me in a few days for my free membership. Going out to Sydney the day after and then scalping money off me now would have absolutely ****ed me. Logged into my account and cancelled it. Done some searching and it only begins to charge once it rolls over. Actually quite smart if not a bit of a dick move on their behalf. Bring people in under the guise it's free, they forget and it rolls over to a weekly payment. Nice try Telstra and AFL, go **** yourself.

I just rang foxtel about a new platinum deal they had , then i tried telstra to compare turns about because I already had a Telstra bundle with my internet that they are doing a new bundle for the same pricing including foxtel. And there current promo is 3 months free sports HD so i will only need to pay for sports package after 3 months.I need to pay $35 a month post promo so all up its only going to cost me $105 and $70 if saints don't make finals!

When I logged on to the old app earlier today my subscription was cancelled. I had to re-logg in to the new app to get the new live pass. Gives the option to log in as a Telstra customer.

Ok ..I followed what Lethal said above
I went to Playstore ...updated the AFL app ..followed the prompts and got a free subsrciption to AFL Live .
And all for a $30 monthly prepaid .

This might be a touch off topic. But does anybody know the best way I can stream games live and put it on my TV (normal resolution)? I'm in NZ and dying to watch some real footy!

Was gonna just download the app and hope I can somehow connect it to my TV

If you are using AFL live you can connect your phone/tablet to the tv via hdmi ... works very well for me (android)..

The email was sent in error.

Telstra is offering this free within their package in 2017

Anyone know how to access the 2017 fixture on the new app? There used to be a 'fixture' tab on the menu but it's gone now. Opening 'matches' just shows highlights and scores from last season and earlier.
Go to Matches, then By Team or By Venue (instead of by results). It will get you this years fixtures, only by team or venue (not by round) and for some inexplicable reason with Round 23 listed first. If anyway else can find the fixture somewhere else that'd be good...

Step 1: close the app.
Step 2: open the Footy Live app.
Step 3: enjoy a more user friendly experience.

I got that email today

I was astounded when I received the first email and thought.....here's an easy $2k coming up. That's what I would have asked Telstra for as compensation if the email was fact.

Just discovered that the updated AFL Live app downloaded from the Windows Store allows for full match replays (and all other videos) to be played on your computer with the Live Pass. HDMI cable from laptop to the TV, and you've got full screen HD footy! No wanky VPNs or other dodgy crap needed. Exactly the development that everyone has been waiting for!

The best part - As I'm a Telstra mobile customer, it's completely free!
