Not sold that Ted can even take the best forwards week in week out regardless of injury.

Looked to be declining imo.

Blessing might be that Reid is forced back and re captures some form and holds down CHB for years to come.

Ted would be an awesome 3rd tall in his last few years the way he reads the game.

I reckon its his ankle from 2012 remember he had to have 50 injections in a week just to get up for the Grand Final.

I reckon its because he is 32 and footballers cant play for ever and do drop off ala ROK and to not able to replace them is farked.

Never looked so forward to the off season in some time , over it that's for sure.

Pissing me off that the League etc are trying to take us down and might even succeed. Lets hope not

Makes ya feel like shit , couldn't imagine what the Club is thinking right now.

Cant get over that we cant bring in players to replace others that are ageing etc for 2 years. When do we ever go into season after season with the same list

How hard is it going to be to win the Flag now , mighty imo.

Just hope with our picks we pick up a gem or even an unknown from a state League that kills it just to shove it up them. Very hard though.

Clubs have been through this a fair bit recently.

But at least if I was an Adelaide supporter thinking about what happened with the draft tampering and whatnot, I could at least have looked at my Admin and said, 'sure. I get what happened. We deserved to cop that.'

But this? This just defies understanding. I just feel like we're being bullied.

He isn't the greatest forwards tend to get a lot of space on him.

Our midfield pressure honestly flatters our defence.

I think the club isn't going to do anything sadly. Also the lack of coverage the story has received from the media is concerning. Something happened behind the scenes, we probably never know what though.

Agree very much

That's why we need to replace Ted but we cant atm unless Reid goes back and can adapt to a CHB which is unknown or a XR pulls something out of his ass.

He is not getting a kick as a forward so bloody send him back and see what happens

Folks forget about 2014 its gone over finite our initial targets have ended up with other clubs.

As clubs plan years in advance and scope out the possible FA targets at the end of each year its absolutely imperative we focus on lifting this for 2015 or else we are well and truly farked.

@billbc19 seriously? The AFL put COLA in place. Sydney has paid it into every contract. They are being penalised for abiding by an AFL rule.

10:00 PM - 9 Oct 2014

This is the first time i can recall a journo actually describing the COLA in fact.

Emma Quayle i tip my hat to you if your're reading this.

It would be great if Reid could adapt as a CHB, wasn't he drafted as a defender?

It would be a miracle if XR or Alir could take a KPD role.... Would really need to put some kgs on

Reid was a defender as a junior yes

Aliir is still learning the game and is only in his 2nd year.

XR would have 2 put on some kg but im really not sold he will even make it but hope im totally wrong

He was drafted as a defender but I read once that he was actually a midfielder as a junior before a late growth spurt. Has a great reach (195cm tall, 205cm arm width span) and is quick. I watched him in defence once a few years ago in seniors and he was pretty good. Reckon he can and will make the transition as a CHB.

Latest opinion piece from Emma Quayle:

"...it is hard to understand, for a number of reasons, why the club is being punished for not breaking any rules, why it is in fact being punished for adhering to rules, and why the AFL Players Association was never consulted about a decision that has reduced the options available to players who either want to go to Sydney, or get out and play somewhere else..."

What happens when Jon Ralph returns from holidays and has to comment?

Poor Ralphy. Will not be able to bleat about the unfairness that is the Swans anymore. He might even have to go back to journalism school (which I think we all agree is a wise choice for Ralphy anyways) and learn how to write bitchy articles about other teams.

I have confidence he will bounce back in style and call this a WIN for equalisation. Because Ralphy is if nothing else not unbiased. I tender now his article stating this means the Swans are back on a level playing field, carefully missing the fact that the field Swans now have is boggy and ANZ surface like in quality. Over to you Ralphy - king of hypocrisy and Eddie's mouthpiece.
