I don't mind it - the only players I'd have ahead that have come before him are Eddie Betts and maybe Josh Kennedy.

Alex Rance is the truly underrated one here. I'd have him third place behind only Fyfe and Dangerfield.

There are only nine in-named spots, so one of the above will miss. I am guessing the players were asked to predict the top 50 for 2017, so presumably Naitanui won't be named, given he will miss a substantial part of the season (if not the whole season).

On the other hand, might need to reserve a spot in the top 10 for Clayton Oliver. He'll probably push Ablett out.

I don't think Richmond has had two players in the top 13 or so in a while though, when Cotchin was one of the best players in the league (2012) Deledio, Riewoldt and Martin weren't up there. I'd say Richmond's top tier is improved slightly yet, still bound for the bottom.

Exactly, I would go further and ask why J.Riewoldt isn't in the list, when the list is obviously based on ability over multiple years. 4th highest goal kicker currently active in the AFL, only just behind Roughead with 27 games less played. Had a down year goals wise because we were terrible in particular getting the ball forward but averaged 14 disposals a game...

Just saying, they found a spot for Jeremy Cameron, Hawkins and Roughead...

Goddard isn't in the top 100. Doesn't have the running game for modern football. Hooker stiff, he's better than Hurley.

JJK is head of Lynch if its a top 50 for 2017, by which i assume they are taking the ratings as now.

But there are some odd ones in there.
Mitchell @ 20 is where this list lost me. Its just plain wrong.
He is probably the #2 player in the comp.

That's because Mitchell plays for West Coast now if he was still playing for Hawthorn he would be in the top 10 and also Kennedy the current coleman medalist should be higher than Sloane and Martin.
