Well Hudson won't either. We need to get Witts ready as there is a real Chance both Jolly and Hudson would have Retired

I love how you call Huddo the "Old Codger" when he's only three years older then Jolly, glad your not on the selection committee.

We made the right selection, we had very few other options.

If we didn't have Hudson and Russell on the list we would have lost this game for sure. Witts isn't ready to be a number one ruckman yet and who else would have replaced Reid?

So next year when Hudson retires we just Throw Witts in and Hope he is ready?

Lynch has done Nothing since 1st Few Games

Why is That?

Well Jolly is also an Old Codger. Our Ruck Lists are that you are a Old Codger or you are still Very Young

Reids the big one....im not sure what all the worry about hudson is, he will destroy port in the ruck.

THIS.:thumbsu:
We are ranked 18th in the AFL for total hitouts, and most of that has to do with Jolly having a poor year. We lose next to nothing with Hudson coming in, in fact Jolly has anything wrong with him at all (and he does this time) then he simply doesn't play now.

Basically we can't do any worse in the ruck than what we've been doing.

Hudson is a better ruck than Jolly so I am happy with that change. The big loss is Reid obviously and I think that will hurt us in the end. Port will get themselves up for this game no doubting that and they will be fielding a better side than us. I am changing my tip to Port by under 4 goals now.

More injuries.

If we are serious about finishing in the top or for that matter playing finals, then this is a MUST win game. NO flipping EXCUSES HERE!!!!

I don't care if Port beat Sydney last week. We can't use the excuse, "oh it's ok. Port are on the rise and defeated the reigning premiers last week." NO. I don't want to hear this. We SHOULD EASILY dispose of Port. Will be close for a couple of quarter, but we should run out comfortably.

A defeat here and I will be mad.

I believe you said this before the Brisbane game...worked out ok for us ;)

Hudson is competent enough in the ruck but around the ground he offers nothing at all at least Jolly is quite useful around the ground.

The numbers suggest otherwise. In fact his game for us against the Hawks was as good, if not better around the ground than Jolly has been for us in a couple of years IMO..

Excellent. I just got to do it when we play Hawthorn and all we be good again.

Seriously though, we can't lose to Port. It would be a kick in the guts.

good decision all round for mine - jolly an extended rest, hudson some game time, Russell to be primed and Ball just makes us better. Glad we have Dwyer and Blair in there in spite of the speculation. The only lineball would be Lynch for Witts for me - just for the sake of list management.

just out of curiosity, where is Gault at, is he capable of a key defensive role - a Reid replacement? He's been in the system a couple of years and the club were talking him playing seniors in 2013
