Really like the look of Elliot. As everyone says, he looks a lot like s 'tackling' Medhurst. I think he definitely has a future.

Good work all round.

Dawes is playing a Leigh Brown role which doesn't consist of much possessions or goals. He was very good in the first quarter as well.

Harry O has been fine, just a couple of stupid decisions tonight.

Clarke has 1 average to bad game once in a while. Get off him.

Thanks for doing that - saves us the trouble.

Could almost give Dawes a week in the twos next week and bring in Paine or Jolly (and retain Wood).

There are options to replace him, certainly.

Dawes Is just offering nothing though, stop making excuses for him.
Dropping chest marks etc. is just not good enough

Clarke is no shoe-in for best 22. The way I see it, if Johnson comes back and finds form, we'll probably only select 2 out of Johnson, Clarke and Buckley. Buckley is going pretty well at the moment and I'd have him at least level pegging with Clarke. And an in-form Johnson is well above either of them.

Happy with that.. It's possible we can be 1st next round if we win big against melbourne.

Our young players are showing a lot of potential.

The speed of Marley Williams is fantastic, he's a real weapon coming off of half back. I like his hard nut ways, its really good to see a first year rookie playing so well.

Elliott is a real presence down forward, very dangerous. I like the look of the kid, not too selfish but is a very good user of the ball, and a great leap.

Sinclair is a gun. I'm laughing at all the haters right now. You've just gotta persist with the kids, they do turn around and become more confident. 3 goals, a very good performance all round. Also the kid had 100% disposal efficiency.

Ugle was great, obviously didn't have much of an impact, but his unselfishness was highlighted by his over the top handpass to Elliott in the goalsquare. Classy stuff.

Cam Wood, stand up. Geeeeee he had a ripping game. 20 odd disposals for a ruckman is exceptional. I'm happy for the kid. Definately deserves a game next week. I'm not gonna care if it is at the expense of Dawes, if Jolly has to come back in.

Tom Young, was a little out of it, and will probably be the first to be pushed out of the side as our injury list decreases, but had a real good crack at it and that's all you can really ask for in this stage of his career.

Simon Buckley! Wow what a goal. Is rapidly improving the more chances he's given. Now that his spot in the 22 is semi regular (due to injuries) he's proving to be valuable with his run off half back.

Our regular stars are all firing, Daisy is finding the form he's been known for in previous years. Everything is all starting to click together! And we're still not even full strength.
Very happy with that effort from the boys. Can't ask for anything more, especially when your best mid goes down early.

To see how far these fringe players are taking us, it's incredible. We've got incredible depth.

Remember everyone, this is the reason we're premiership favourites. WE ARE COLLINGWOOD!

Yes, it's frustrating as hell, but he's our best option now and for this year as far as I can see.

So, don't you think we are best served by getting him going again, and isn't that more likely to happen in the AFL v Melbourne rather than in the VFL?

Dawes was beaten in almost every contest by Hickey. He was possibly our worst player. His marking, his reading of the play or the flight of a ball and even his kicking were sub standard. If there was someone to relieve in the ruck, Paine might well get a game, but Dawes seems the only player able to assist. Dawes should be dropped on his game tonight, one in which everyone bar Abblett and Hickey lowered their colours.

Dawes will only be dropped if 1) the coaching staff believe that dropping him to the VFL will boost his confidence or 2) they genuinely believe Paine will offer more than Dawes.

Well we have Tom Young and Marley Williams that are holding those flanking roles in the backline. And Clarke has been better than Buckley this year, although Buckley did play better than Clarke tonight.

this game is all about "How bad is Pendles injury". That is all.

Typical, we just can't get through a match without losing a major player to a significant injury. Goddamit. My guess it will turn into a 4-6 week which is probably better than what it could be, and because it continues our trend. Looks like he had stability but I suspect they jabbed him up.

Looks similar to what he copped in 2009 up at Sydney when a Swans player did the same thing to him as he was trying to reach for it. I think that cost him 2 weeks but he was fine when he came back.

I am not expecting anything to be wrong with Pendles' knee.

Let's be honest - if there any structural damage, they wouldn't put him back against GC (and further risk) whether jabbing would null the pain or not. He may miss / rest next week, but I reckon he will be fit and firing against WCE.

Wood was good, and deserves to hold his spot. As someone has said - Joll / Wood would be better against NicNat and Cox than either with Dawes. Let's play two rucks for a few weeks.

Elliot was very useful. Looking forward to seeing this kid when he finds the pace of the game. Rushed it a couple of times, but looked competitive.

Marley was okay. Does have some battler tendencies, but certainly earning his spot. Could be our next Ben Johnson with his slightly iffy left foot but speed and toughness.

Sinclair was good again (and should have been paid the screamer). He has really made a lot of people look a little silly (myself included) and is becoming a part of this club's best 22.

I liked seeing a bit of Fas in the backline today, just to get him away from goals. He really needs to learn to pass the ball better when he is no chance.

Problem with Fas is he is barely AFL fit, he looks 2 pre-seasons from having the base to run a game out any more than playing forward pocket.

Didn't watch the match. A certain person doesn't have Foxtel and his stream wasn't working... Will try and catch a replay in the week.

From what I heard Dawes had a terrible game yet again. Needs to be dropped now, no two ways about it. Pendles' knee isn't serious so that's good. Was really impressed with our young brigade tonight! Particularly Elliot and Sinclair.

Great win and let's look forward to hopefully another percentage booster next Monday!

lol. I suspect they won't have 'jabbed him up'.

Pendles will be fine to go against the eagles.. might rest him next week but his knee is fine.

if anything its a slight strained medial

Exactly. You don't jab up the best player in the league and plonk him back on the ground when you're 5 goals up midway through the first term against a team yet to win a game.

I don't expect him to play next week, but I'd be genuinely shocked if he missed the Eagles game as well.

It isn't this. He had ice on the outside of his knee post match and the medial is on the inside of the knee. Its most likely bone bruising or a slight strain to the collateral ligament, but nothing more.

Pendles was an absolute classic case of playing it safe. There is categorically no way they would even risk him whatsoever. I reckon he might miss against Melbourne and Swanny will come back in, but that'll probably just be a caution thing.
