I did want Young to be dropped BEFORE the game. He played very well and really showed his value. I like the mix of the side with the extra runner and one specialist ruck. Seedsman, Young and Lumumba provided great drive.

I did want Young to be dropped BEFORE the game. He played very well and really showed his value. I like the mix of the side with the extra runner and one specialist ruck. Seedsman, Young and Lumumba provided great drive.
Couple of good spoils from Young showing good courage.

Apart from the percentage booster...Seedsman and Thomas were the two big positives from tonight for me. Others were Cloke and Fasolo, Young and Harry and Jesse White. I thought Witts stood up well again as did Frost and Langdon. Adams game, Sidebottom's elbow and Maxwell's calf were the big negatives.

Very strange you are happy to stick by Adams with his disposal but earlier today you were very happy see Young get dropped due to disposal?

He had a very good game. I guess it is a question of can we play both Seedsman ans Young? The oppostion was very poor tonight so that question is still outstanding.

As I said Young is a huge key to our team and with Seed in the team is even better they make us less predictable

If you're going to defend a player that had a poor game don't do it at the expense of one of the best half dozen players on the ground
I think we can play both, beauty being one is a left footer and one a right footer, they both can defend well enough when required too. I think they compliment the more truly defensive players like Frost and Toovey well. They both can realistically play anywhere between half back and half forward, both competent at kick-ins and as much as I hate the sub rule they are both kind of well suited to it.
Thomas has genuine class from around the stoppages though. He can burst through at pace. Adams doesn't have that. I agree that Thomas' kicking is quite poor for an AFL footballer, but it is just another reason why we can't have both guys in the team. Adams may hit the contest hard, but he brings little else at this point. He should go back to the VFL and concentrate solely on using the ball properly. THe quarter and a half I saw of him in the VFL a few weeks back was memorable for the 3 kicks that he hit inside 50 that scrubbed along the ground. That's not up to VFL standard, let alone AFL.

St Ks effort and fitness died in the arse at the end so hard to judge how we are going. I do think many times tonight though I felt we needed a little more sting and a touch less battle. I was not far off giving poor Tay Adams a bagging but did notice a few supreme efforts and run which were not the sign of a kid who head drops.
General observation. We seemed to transition from half back to the forward line so much better tonight than any game this year. So many times off the half back line the player had the time to really assess the options and quite often switched to the middle and set up a good forward thrust. I know a lot of this was due to the opponent being not up to it at all but was great to see Young, Seedsman, Williams really assess their options and more often than not take the right option.
Interesting. So if an opinion matches yours it is reason but if it doesn't conform to what you think then it is irrational.

I know people are giving it to Adams but I would still take him over Shaw every time,he does not abuse his team mates and carry on like a pork chop.We know his disposal is S-------- but if he gets it right we will have good player on our hands Marley,s disposal was a bit ordinary when he came in but he had a go as does Adams it might take some time but we have to give him a chance.JT was great tonight and we need to persevere with him he has a big upside to him and so do we with him in that form,it give,s us something on the inside and also a bit more finishing power.
What is it going to be like in 8 weeks when Shara,Freeman,PK and Broomy are all trying to get in,good times coming for the Pies I think maybe not this year but certainly from next and I would not put a line through us for this year either.

If we can play both it will provide us with another dimension. To do this we have to play one ruck + White. Tonight was not perfect but I think that in terms of structure we were spot on. Bucks neds to continue with this mix.

On the performance tonight hard to disagree. In saying that as well as White did tonight a big factor in that would be the inexperience of the Saints ruck players also. I think that it's still opponent dependent on whether we play 2 genuine rucks or not. Either way I don't agree that the ruck setup directly dictates whether we can play both Young and Seedsman.

There's limited hurt factor there. Replace one of those names with Broomhead or Martin and it provides much better balance.

Totally. Was just thnking of runners. Fortunately we have a few...would love to see the broom and martian get a game
