It's true. It is very strange that they would update a 'late change' that is actually a day early before the game. The media do like to speculate that Brown won't play, and seem to have taken the fact that Acorn is an emergency as i sign he isn't playing.

Just quietly i'm hoping for a late change, Acorn in, Collier out.

hi all, first time poster here. Hoping shermo breaks his shackles and has a great game,we really need it today. I think the rusty fist will be fired up for this game, just hope he can go the 4 quarters.

What a stupid move. Selwood instead of Acorn.

Agree that it should have been ACorn for Brown and not Selwood. It either means Clark will play more forward or Brennan will play down forward or maybe he will throw patful forward.

Cornelius seemed the logical change to me as well, but I have to admit, after seeing the change on AFL.com.au I logged on to BigFooty to have a little chuckle at the inevitable howling at the moon.

My BigFooty prediction for today: We get utterly smashed in the midfield again yet people will claim that not selecting Cornelius was the difference.

I would have hoped Acorn got the nod, however against a team like the dogs i can see why we might go with another running player. With the likes of Clark, Brennan and Staker we can and should still have enough marking power up forward to support Fev, as long as we don't play with blinkers on.

I still like it when we throw Brennan down at FF for a 5 or 10 minute patch, he is just one of those players that can turn a game on it's head, and can be very hard to match up on. By the time the defenders work out who is taking what and find a match up for him, he can rotate back into the midfield and Clark can wonder down. Keeps the defenders on their toes.

Is Vossy on drugs???

Remember the last time we played the Bulldogs in Melbourne? Were tall forwards the difference between the two sides?

I don't think they were.

Cornelius isn't Brown, we may as well bring in an extra runner instead to try and nullify the Bulldogs advantage.

I was excited at the prospect of seeing Cornelius have a run today as well, but Vossy's job is to try and win the game. In the absence of Brown, it appears he is trying a different tack.

Like Chopperduck said, I suspect in Brown's absence, we are probably going to rotate talls through our forward line... Clark, Leuenberger, Staker and even Brennan may find themselves up there at times. In a rotating format they are probably going to provide about as much impact as Cornelius would, and Selwood's inclusion will give us some more run to boot, and will do a defensive role on one of their quality mids.

I like the change.

Playing the Dogs in Melbourne is always a hard task for us. We are a 5 goal worse team against them down there compared to the gabba.

Hope Troy can have a good game. Let's have a four quarter effort today guys, don't be on the back foot and trying to catch up to the Dogs on the scoreboard. Be alert and "awake" all game, don't let the finals pass us by - this is our last chance. CUMMON YOU LIONS.

Hope Fev gets word that young Jack Reiwoldt has joined him on the Coleman leader board (5 goals in 19mins).....might get Fev's competitive juices going..lets hope so!:D
