Sick of knobs calling for him to be rested, literally the only reason they call for it is because he is a first year player, if he was putting out the same numbers as a 4th-5th year player there would be no calls for him to be rested.

If Joel Selwood didnt need to be rested in 2007, or Wines didnt need to be rested in 2013, Stevo doesnt need to be rested in 2018.

If we’re being pedantic, Jelwood played 21 games in his first year, which is inclusive of finals, so he was definitely rested.

I think you’re taking the rest as a bad thing?

It’s not.

Let’s not kid our selves though, he’s young, he’s skinny and yes he is a gun. 21 games at AFL level is very different than numerous TAC Cup and VFL level games.

I would have given him a rest week ago, against a team like North or Gold Coast. Back when our season was a lot more stable and his inclusion wouldn’t have been the difference between winning and losing, but rather the margin.

I would hate to see him burn out early or suffer an injury from an overloaded program. I for one, hope we go as deep as we can in the finals, and this means he will be playing 23-26 games in his first season. Something even the greats in their prime don’t do.

I love the player he is and who he is going to become, but a rest isint a bad thing, especially as a teenager!

It's always the knobs who call for these things!
