Just wanna pop in and say I'm pumped for this game! Both very different looking teams than 2010/2011!

Just a question, Geelong seem quite happy to not win the clearances/inside ball this year and instead happy to get it on the outside/rebound. Bally is a coalface player so how do you expect him to make a difference.

I'm not being rude or a smart arse just genuinely curious - as he will help you win in an area that you should already beat us in. Will he free up someone like Pendles to run a bit more? Thanks :)
Yea I expect Pendles and Swan to be able to damage on the outside a little more. Maybe Sidebottom and Blair to go forward for a bit longer as well, where they are more damaging.

Not necessarily run a bit more because Pendles runs heaps anyways, but Pendles is a bit of an inside receiver type. He can win his own ball just fine and be at the bottom of packs, but it's not his natural game. Having Ball around the stoppages means that there's another big body aside from Swan to impact the contest, cause or prevent a spillage and farm it out with a quick handball.

In Ball's absence, it's been Beams who stepped up last year and Blair this year to fill in that role and become that first possession player. Swan has also had to do some extra heavy lifting to try and compensate for Ball's loss. But with him back in, it allows not only Pendles to play a more natural game, but Swan too. Not to mention Sidebottom and Blair who can spend more time forward.

I don't think he'll dominate, but he doesn't need to. He adds so much to the team's structure.

Dale Thomas out for six weeks apparently.
Yeah, been posted as between 4 and 12 weeks with an ankle tendon injury, although AFL 360 are keeping this close to their chest (the bastards).

Shocking news if true.

Rumours are strong, why the duck is this happening?

Definitely, I hope it's not true.
We've got a few injury concerns at the moment too but aside from Menzel, Varcoe (about 10 weeks away) is our longest term concern. Terrible luck you've had over the past year with LTIs.

If thomas is out long term as well then this season really couldn't get much worse
Unfortunately I don't think there is a bottom to how much worse it can get. Injury to any of Pendles, Swan or Cloke would be worse. Bucks getting the sack will be worse. Collingwood not making 8 will be worse.

I'm depressed about our situation.
