Anyone else disagree if we pull this off it will be our greatest victory in a while (form and injuries wise). I reckon even better than the Adelaide win last year with only Keefe in KPD because our form has been shit house as well.

In : Ball, Russell, Williams.

Out : Thomas, Shaw, Clarke ( if he's injured ).

Russell is the perfect replacement for Shaw, I know he makes mistakes and is the whipping boy, but he must play imo.

I like these changes as in the absence of Goldsack we need a little height and strength down back. So Russell comes in, Ball is a no brainer but i think Marty will play as he as been cleared of any issues.

A part of me also wants to see Williams given a run to reward his VFL form but not sure who gets dropped for him.

Caff to Selwood ?
Marty to Stokes? Too slow?

Our injury list has Marty as being available, same with Mooney.
Marty needs to play as a small defender and Mooney adds a bit of pace and zip to the forward half.
Daisy out due to his ankle and Shaw for the suspension... Massive losses for us. Both prime movers of the footy and take the game on.

INS: Ball, Russell
OUTS: Thomas, Shaw

B - Maxwell Brown Clarke
HB - O'Brien Reid Russell
C - Seedsman Swan Sidebottom
HF - Macaffer Lynch Blair
F - Elliott Cloke Krakouer
R - Jolly Ball Pendlebury
INT - J.Thomas Mooney Dwyer
SUB - Kennedy

Although I would like to see Dids come in as well I just have a feeling he wont.
If he does then I would be thinking Kennedy will be the change.

Really do not want Russell anywhere near this game. Geelong are close to the fastest team in the league. Russell has to be close to the slowest player in the league, and easily at our club. He is slow, and AT TIMES not all the time can be soft. He will be found out yet again if he plays.

Pretty Hard to predict the Ins and Outs..

Thomas and Shaw out leaves us vulnerable down back against small forwards, which Geelong are strong ( Sto Caine aka Stokes , Christensen, Motlop, Smedts etc) . Marley Williams been good in vfl as small defender. Hope his disposal has improved. Russell looks likely to come in. Johnno is available but maybe have a run in the two's.

I reckon we need another option up forward, no Goldsack hurts. I reckon we play Paine. Witts too slow and cant play with Jols, Lynch, Cloke in same team. Not at moment anyway..

Elliott down last couple weeks, but had couple hard knocks, which may be a contributor. Might need a run in the VFL. Mooney looked good when came on, need his pace. One or two out of Mooney, Clarke, Elliott and Kennedy will be dropped I would say, esp if Dids is in.

I say :

In: Ball, Didak, Williams , Russell and Paine
Out : Shaw, Daisy, Kennedy, Clarke and Elliott

The bigger bodies are what we need against the Cats.

They didn't turn up for a half against Hawthorn, North and Richmond and were very average against the Dogs.

Good point. Look, here's hoping that we somehow win this one. I'll never stop barracking for the Pies even if we are riddled with injuries and poor form. I just love our team too much!

I reckon we can. We just have to play four quarters and we are in it up to our eyeballs. Cloke to have a big game would help.

Well, the Cats are surely due for a loss??? That could help us. Clokey needs a big game imo. He has been average of late.

Hoping Pendles gets his gears going again with the inclusion of Ball. This should free him up a little.

Balls leadership will be welcomed as well.

They were 8-0 in 2008 and we were 4-4...we won by 86 points and still only finished 8th that year...:)

They are due for a loss. Swan has also been pretty quiet for the last couple of weeks. He had a pretty big game against Geelong last year.

Also Pendlebury's last three games against Geelong have been very good (going back to 2011 GF). Hoping for another one.

We have the edge in the midifeld IMO. Don't underestimate how big a loss Taylor Hunt is for them. If our forward line can function reasonably well (a big if I know) then I rate us a big chance.

My biggest worry is our defense. Other than that, I am pretty confident we can match it with them.

Yup Stokes, Motlop and Christensen have been giving me nightmares all week...Hawkins hasnt been in good form at all so that makes it a little easier. Maybe Harry to go back with Russell and Williams to come into the team. Hard pressed with Toovey, Shaw and Johsnon all out.

But if the midfield wins it won't be down there as often ;)

Don't know why Krac is so slow this year, don't recall that when he came back last year. Infact I thought he went quite well.
That's what happens when you come back overweight from the Xmas break.;)

Just because you may blindly accept that everything Collingwood choose must be the correct decision is no reason to be a smartarse. I work in the Allied Health field, have worked at North Melbourne, but I am not qualified to be a Sports Science Director.

Steve Saunders would be an excellent get for Collingwood - but he is on far from Peanuts, North or not.

Yep. Flexibility is a very important overall part of fitness, but there have been numerous studies and scholarly articles that argue it is actually detrimental to sporting performance done before the event. Foam rolling and/or massage are much better ideas.

With all due respect to your knowledge, which I am happy to concede would far exceed mine, I believe that the guys we have in place know what they are doing. Despite the recent run of injury. I apologise for the smart ass comment.
