I would keep Notting in for next week, his 200th game, would love to see him play in a winning game. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to much to let him play one more?

Who said it was? The Riewoldt comment was in reference to Roe.
mate you have made no sense it what you are saying is it roe in or out or waht did harding do that travis didn't do but you are the only one who has given negative thoughts all day it is not an opportunity lost because as i said a good team will always rise to the top and i think e can go on from here

Realistically they were considerably better than us, but only our good kicking kept us in it. Still liked the fight though!

The fight was bloody great to watch! And to hear the commentators finally give some credit to that and the guys in the end after all the BS they sprouted for 3 quarters was almost worth it!

I guess its easy to say the "whatifs" by hell Patfull alone would have made a hell of a difference... JMac stuffed up a few times but its hard to blame a guy who must have felt like "he was" the defense. At times there was enourmous pressure back there...

Even though the clearances were the usual lop sided stats it seemed like if we got it to ground today we would win it out... the intensity of the guys was just awesome...

Shermans strung a few great games in a row now...
Stiller is like that guy you never hear from... but the one that just keeps working and working...
Sheldon looks good...
Polks looks good...
Adcocks back...
Clark is something special now he found his spot...
And yet again - the most important player on the team - Drummond - just leaves you speechless with his work and skill. Every team in the comp would kill to have him line up for them... What a talent!

Theres some great signs here... the boys are a world apart from last year in work, in intensity, in trust, in confidence and teamwork.

Now, all we need is a little more time... and a few less injuries!

spot on for me acuguy, hoops for harding and hendo for notting. Proud hopefully back in for Collier as well. Collier did ok, but Proud would have been good. How bout Ace ?? does Ace keep his spot ?? if so where does he get played ?

Our tackling and general defensive work around the game i thought was excellent against the saints who are the number 1 defense currently in the AFL. Without our 2 pillars in the back, we were still able to apply good tackles, and out tackled the tackling machine that is the saints. Really got the sense that they guys did show up to win and not just have an 'honourable loss'

A proud day for the club, in my view, and a great credit to the coach.

Critically, we have found a few good young players over the past few weeks, and the pressure and atmosphere today will have helped them enormously.

Hopefully the effort today combined with the 6 day turnaround won'tstop us producing a repeat performance against North.

You said if Roe was out, we would have lost by 10 goals.

I'm simply saying that Riewoldt/Kozi couldn't have had it much easier than they did today.

Cornelius down back failed today, it was only when he swapped with Bradshaw that we looked ok.

Very proud the club and the effort put in. James Polkinghorne and Mitch Clark were outstanding and really look to quickly become key components of the side.

Selection this week will be interesting with Proud, Selwood, Hooper and perhaps Hendersom are all likely to come into consideration.

yeah, was a bit of a let down seeing riska not really putting himself into the game. He isn't getting the chances he had in the middle last year, but he has got to learn to still make your chances. Sherman is finding the ball playing from the forwardline. Riska needs to do the same.

Rischitelli is stagnating. Got very little from him today.

:(

Agreed, unfortunately.

At the risk of sounding like Quigley, his spot in the side must now be in question, which hurts us bigtime as he has the size and experience most of the other young guys lack.

A big lift from Riska next week would make a massive difference.

another negative quote from the b/dog.....how about a great effort from who we had and riscca will tear it up next week. if not i owe you a coke

Mate, I have been discussing positives as well, get the hell over it.

Are you in love with me or something?

Man, I copped so much shit last year on here for being too positive, now I'm copping it for the other way.

How about you just chip in with some insight of your own instead of passing judgement on everyone, lest this board goes back to the crap of last year.

Not much more to be said. Good game despite the result. Found out a bit more about some of our youngsters, a few good ones in there. Clark - what a gun.

Not going to get carried away though. Early last year we pushed Geelong all the way at Skilled, before falling apart in the 2nd half of the season. Having said that I don't think that'll happen again.

One of the biggest pluses to come out of today was actually off the field, in the coach's box. Vossy & co made some very good moves at good moments. We were a bit short of tall cattle down back, and I would have included Henderson instead of Notting - but they did well with the resources they had.

Tim Watson is the worst and most biased commentator I have ever heard. He must have forgotten how bad he was when he coached the Saints , the rest of the footy world hasn'. What a tosser. He should be sentenced to live in Qld for 3 years to make him wake up to himself, but he probaby can't remember we even have a QLD state.
Moron, he infuriated me today watching the game, the only detraction from a fine example of AFL footy.

And if you try to paint me as a negative poster, I'll also respond when required. Because you are dead wrong.

I'm going to take a punt here and say that I attend more reserves games than you. I have been dismayed at the continual inrreconcilable gulf between Harding's reserves form and his senior form.

It is incredibly frustrating, and thus it resulted in my comments today. If you think the coaching staff is going to walk away going "good effort today by most of the group, lets just pretend no one played poorly" I'd hope you are dead wrong.

Hard and tough game, 6 day turn around and traveling again. Hope we can back up. Hale and Petrie will be a handful next week after what I saw today.
