AFL Silver Membership Waitlist Number Part 2

I think I'm being paranoid but just wanted to check that my AFL membership will just allow me to rock up to Richmond V Hawks on Saturday and scan in (to GA/Standing)?

One reason I ask is I saw a post from an AFL member complaining that Essendon v Carlton had sold out - I presume they meant seating but just wanted to be sure.

What is further making me paranoid is that when I thought about getting a seat, I select AFL Reserve and put in my barcode and the only seating is Middle L4 (I'd rather stand anyway), but there is also an option to pay $13.00 for General Admission AFL Reserve - which begs the question, why would an AFL member do that if they can already get in scanning their card or using the electronic ticket in the app?

Yes for both Essendon Carlton and Collingwood Melbourne, the afl reserve was completely sold out including standing room. If you didnt have a ticket, you couldnt scan in.

For Richmond Hawthorn, there will be GA areas, most of level 4 back and stanidng room.

The $13 option for General Admission is because you havent clicked on that to see that that is the price for a junior ga guest pass and not for the member themselves. $39 for adult GA guest pass.

Oh thanks for that, so I wasn't being paranoid after all (well, maybe for assuming Richmond v Hawks would sell out, but it is Dusty's 300th)

I just got a text from AFL membership warning that tickets might sell out (they probably read this thread and see an opportunity to get some additional $ from members like me who are worried they might be turned away). I decided to spend the $10.90 and get a seat just in case, but as poster above has said, I would expect additional bays would be opened up.

The logical (and fair) process would be not to sell more memberships then capacity and allow members not going to resell their ticket back (allowing other members to buy guest passes or on sold for public access).

How's this...

Telstra plus members can still get seats in their afl reserve special. Level 4 mid level

Row L at the moment

Telstra having been selling tickets into the AFL Members since at least 2018.
do next batch go on sale Tuesday (18-Jun)?
They do yes.

If your club of support is the home team, can you still scan in at GA instead of AFL members (for a non fully-ticketed match)?
If so, is that still the case if AFL members is sold out but GA still has availability?

I tried to scan my AFL GOLD Member card to a full ticketed event at the MCG years ago.....when I scanned at the turnstile I fell through a trap door. From sheer shock and panic of it I passed out.

I woke up sometime later with a high vis vest on and told that I'd be umpiring one of the aus kickers games.

It was a weird experience.

hypothetically, yes.

But realistically there are no games that sell out the AFL members that aren't fully ticketed.

Fair enough.
I was thinking because the AFL have sent these warnings today that Rich vs. Haw may sell out and to upgrade but I didn't think General Admin would sell out. However I just checked the MCC website and it says the game is fully ticketed. So there you have it.

Does anyone know what they are like at policing access to level 2 / 2A. I bought tickets for a couple of teens middle level 4 but I was thinking of telling them to head to 2A at a quarter time - going by the Essendon vs Carlton match there will be plenty of seats there to pinch if they want a better view.

I had a seat spare next to me for KB, however the aisle attendants were pretty hot on people loitering in the no standing zones so maybe suss our available seats during the first quarter and walk with purpose? 😂

Edit: actually pre game I had an attendant check my ticket too at the entrance to level 2A, can’t say if it was policed the whole game.
