He basically fits Gary Rohans spot in their forward line perfectly, who is getting on at 32.

If we are smart, we see if we can wedge oursleves into this deal and offer up our pick 22 to be involved to get someone like Cooper Stephens (who will now be stuck behind Knevitt, Bruhn, Parfitt and Holmes for midfield time)
For example

Ess: Cooper Stephens and pick 46 (Geel)
Geel: Ollie Henry
Coll: Pick 22, pick 58 (Ess)
Massage some picks if required.

Agree, like I said, I think for a club with a powerful midfield and consistent pressure around the pill he could be something forward or back, such are his hands and reading the flight, but not for us.

Not necessarily sold on Cooper Stephens but fully agree 22 should be on the table for an asset, whether that be player or a future selection.

SOS perspective is interesting

could just be protecting the fact he traded him in.

a lot of "could haves" mentioned

Well yeah obviously. I do think there is something to be said not only for Stocker but the entire cohort of players who've been drafted during covid though, with their development being messed around with the scratch matches during 2020, or their U16s/U17s/U18s year being cancelled.

The bit about the style of player is interesting too - tough nut small defender.

I wonder if we'd be thinking of him as a small defender (need) or as a mid (his U18 position and a common trope in our player recruitment).

Hes probably playing VFL midfield with a fully fit list unless he comes on massivily

No doubt he provides depth all over the ground. From memory was a bit half fwd in juniors aswell, not that we require that.

Sam Edmund reporting on SEN that Hunter Clark is 'gettable' apparently.

I wonder how close to pick 22 his value is.

Would trade 22 for Clark in a heartbeat

Apparently North bound.

I think that is an exaggeration. Has got plenty right over the journey, has his misses like everyone else though.
Lore and a few of the other regulars on the D/T/FA board actually dove into this and basically it isn't. He's the worst.

How did Edmund go last year with the blue tick rumour file you guys ran on the draft board in 2020/21?
Tom Morris won by a country mile but due to family stuff happening I never finished the count. I'll fix that this weekend.

Sam Edmund is notoriously the worst at getting these things right
I would argue he is not. I hear a lot of SEN from 5am to 12pm while I am driving around or waiting on job sites. He is very solid. Anyway it is not really about them getting it right. The fact is clubs leak a lot of misinformation. He has been rock solid on Jackson going back to WA despite he rumors saying he was going to stay.

Wonder if we would be interested in Josh Bruce as and salary for significant unders.
