I don't know why Bowes would agree to that, he would effectively be playing two years for free.
Agree.

But if true, it nullifies a huge advantage we’d have.

Sorry, the source has apologised and removed post saying it was unreliable. Usually a good source of info.
It’s not that phoney ITK on Twitter is it?

I must admit, I think John Doe is correct (based off nothing but gut feel btw), and I think a lot of these IKR twitter accounts and those on this platform just throw darts

John Doe said he ruled us out 1.5 weeks ago without meeting with us, yet we are still somehow in the race.

The guy has a history of guessing and then shooting from the hip, followed by deleting tweets that aren't right.... which is most of them.

So North could have had (post bids) pick 6 last year, pick 6 this year and pick 15/16 this year for Horne-Francis and pick 19.

That's Ablett junior territory.

yeah.
just cut the cord. we f'd that up with Joey.

not the worst outcome. yes, they turned down 6, 6 & 14, but they'll probably land 8 this year and 12 next.
i Would go 2023 first and ask for players

North should send him off - we learned the hard way, no point wasting time with players who don’t want to be at your club.

There is no sporting competition in the world that sees its players so adamant about playing at home. It’s starting to undermine the national comp. You’d think long and hard about using a high pick on an interstater these days….

But Scott said he wasn't interested in filling short-term positional needs or topping up with mature-aged players to quickly rise up the ladder.
Short term positional needs… I don’t think we’ve ever not done that.

I guess long term positional needs are okay though? Like a Caldwell or maybe Bowes, young guy with 10-15 years in front of him and plays in a gap that we have no depth or promising kids that might fill it in future?

Wonder if we could get into jhf deal
ess receive pa pick 8, nm 2023 3rd rounder
nm receive 2023pa 1st, Darcy parish and Josh sinn
pa receive jhf
orthneed players and we need to balance midfield
parish would get paid

it's interesting, as we have kids. So i'd argue we could do with some short term positional targets (i.e. a CHF and CHB) to allow the kids time to develop then come through
We could do with another mid or two as well, plus a small forward who is less Guelfi/Snelling. I.e. Junior Rioli.

We're in a tricky one in that we miss/lack the experience from the picks we lost in 2013 and 2014 (though i'd argue 2014 is largely mitigated with Wright) & from the 3 years of heavy trades.
Add to that, we haven't drafted an absolute gun a la Cripps, Bont, Petracca, etc.

Pick 7 aside, i'd really like Bowes to put another kid into the side who has age and games both in him and ahead of him.
