Port are one of those that have to have a gun in their hand to be worthy of respect from their own fanbase. They really don’t want to bow to the pressure Geelong and Essendon are currently exerting.

A few observations I'd like to make about BZT before it's too late.

I doubt any of the commentators I listen to who talk about him realise he is 2 years older than Duursma.

He is Andy McGrath's age, drafted as a 19yo in 2017.

This idea that he will still fill out or develop significantly is, at best, optimistic.

Also, Port is the only club that is trying to sign him. He's not going home. He is going to Port Adelaide. Adelaide, which pretty badly needs a tall defender at least for next season, has never been in the discussion.

We signed McKay, and re-signed Baldwin.

I've had it on solid authority, which is likely good authority, that we lowballed his deal (to free up his list spot). The surrounding circumstances seem to support as much.

no different to any other guy who retires without a flag, it’s sad sometimes but that’s the sport.

Well if Grant went at 105, 35 seems way overs for Duursma

Port has empty pockets at this point, their first pick in 2023 is 112 and next year they have a 2nd and a 3rd rounder still but they’re not allowed to trade them because they don’t have an F1 (or an F4)
